no buckley collection is complete without it
I listen to this almost everyday. I have the original Grace cd and I can tell a difference on this one from being remastered. Also, Kangaroo, Forget Her, and Lost Highway are two hard to find gems. It is a perfect album made even more perfect with the extended collection.

Somewhat disappointing
This came highly recommended to me but I was somewhat disappointed. I really wanted to like it more. Granted that Hallelujah was really well done, but I didn't dislike Leonard Cohen's version either because it is simply a brilliant song. Full disclosure: although I like all music, I am a jazz guy at core, so maybe I was expecting too much. He created an interesting ambiance, but I found it hard to hear the lyrics well and I didn't find harmony particularly striking. I did very much like that, unlike many contemporary records, it was not over-produced with someone else's songs, other musicians and musical directors, with the main character playing only a bit part; so I think this is very honest music. I do plan to check out the posthumous recording - perhaps a better statement.

Mist have!
A grate expansion on the original album. Sound quality is consistently good, and all the songs showcase Jeff's epic talents.

MP3 download mistake
Acutally, I haven't listened yet - Just want to say that the Amazon info says that you don't get "Parchman Farm Blues" with the download (album only), but you do. However, you don't get "Forget Her", which Amazon says you do get with MP3.My first MP3 download from Amazon.com. It went OK except the default is to go to i-Tunes which I don't use. It will try to go that way and have you reconfigure to go to Media Player if that's what you prefer. Not a big issue, just a watch out.

An Indescribable Masterpiece
Grace legacy edition (or just the original album) is a life-changing experience. Most people come to know the album through the song 'Hallelujah', and from there find their way into the multi-layered depths of beauty and magic in this record. The legacy edition consists of disc 1 - the original album, disc 2 - un-released songs from the grace sessions and tour, and disc 3, the music vids.Disc 1 - the album------------------Every track is phenomenal in its own right, and as a part of the whole. From the icy thrill of 'mojo pin', the acoustic beauty of 'lilac wine', the fully fledged screaming rock of 'eternal life' to the pyschadelic swirl of 'dream brother', there is not a single moment not to like. The main thing when discovering 'Grace' for the first time, is to be patient and to give the songs a chance. Apart from 'Hallelujah', none of them are pop songs, nor immediately accessible, but after a few listens and an open mind you will slowly find yourself drawn into the music, and like me, you might never get bored of it and be constantly discovering new things in the mixes and falling in love with it all over again.Disc 2 - the extra stuff------------------------The first song on the legacy disc 2 is 'Forget Her', the finished track from the Grace sessions which was dropped from the album at the last minute. It is a unique song among the Grace tracks, quite possibly the saddest one. I have read in a few places that Jeff dropped it from the album because it was too personal, which sounds likely.Next is the alternate version of Dream Brother, which is a take recorded midway through development with different lyrics. The backing track however is the same as the album version.Tracks 3,5,6 and 7 are 'bare-bones' tracks, just Jeff and his guitar ala 'Hallelujah', my favourite of which is 'Parchman Farm Blues' a steel-string acoustic blues number.Track 4 'Alligator Wine' is essentially a joke cover track, with Jeff just clowning around and making outlandish noises into a microphone. At the end of the track you can hear him and the band laughing and goofing around.Track 8 'Kanga-Roo' is a quite avant-garde and strange tune which the band would play as an encore at their live shows. The 14 minute run time of the track is down to the hypnotic outro which goes on for about 10 minutes, where the band just play the same guitar riff over and over while the drummer plays different fills. Not the easiest listen, and typical outside-the-box Jeff weirdness.Track 9 'I want someone badly' is a Jeff guest vocal performance with band Shudder To Think. It's a very laid back jazzy song with a brass section and doo-wop style backing vocals. The song is totally out of place with the rest of the songs on the album, but this just makes it more unique and fun.Eternal Life (Road Version), Kick Out The Jams, and Strawberry Street are the heaviest full-band recordings which Jeff and the guys ever made. They are all great tracks, and enjoyable to listen to, powered by punky grungy guitars and drums with Jeff in full-blown yelling form.Dream Brother (Nag Champa Remix) is just the instrumental track of Dream Brother with the odd echoing snatch of Jeff's vocals occasionally surfacing in the mix. A fairly pointless and disappointing track.Disc 3 - the videos-------------------The Grace music videos are all here, and also the EPK Grace documentary, which is short, but also an interesting watch with plenty of interviews with Jeff. It is the same documentary which is featured on the Live at Sin-e legacy edition dvd.In conclusion-------------For the Jeff fanatic, or the first time listener, this is an indispensible listen which has inspired countless musicians, and drawn countless listeners into its surreal world.

Hallelujah, Jeff Buckley's "Grace" Earns Eternal Life with this "Legacy Edition"
A remarkable album by a remarkable performer who left us all too soon. In some cases one might say that a second CD of alternative versions and additional tracks is a bit of overkill, but with so little Jeff Buckley studio work available, the Legacy Edition of this great piece of music makes entirely good sense. The accompanying DVD makes this good value for the money. The packaging and detailed booklet complete the set nicely. "Grace" and "Live at Sin-e" Legacy Editions are must-haves for Jeff Buckley fans, old and new.

Per gli emotivi
Purtroppo mi mancano le doti per commentare un simile capolavoro. Dovrebbero insegnarlo a scuola e scrivere libri.
