Review: Excellent ball, but watch your sizing! - I purchased this ball for my wife and I after our trainer recommended that we add ball exercises to our core routines and after making the mistake of buying another (cheaper) brand first. After returning the ball from the other company, I turned to Black Mountain because the reviews were great and because I've previously had great results with their products (I also own a set of BMP bands, which I love). The ball arrived quickly, and the included pump quickly inflated it to the proper diameter (75 cm...my wife and I are both tall). After a few weeks of regularly using the ball during some very rough exercise routines, here are my thoughts: Pros: - After the initial inflation three weeks ago, we've only had to top up the ball once. It seems to be holding air and shape very well. - Very durable. I use this as a bench during various free-weight exercises, and tend to be rough with it during core and leg exercises, and it has yet to show any sign of leakage or failure. It seems to be taking the abuse pretty well! - The surface is smooth and easy to clean without being slick or tacky. Some balls are so slippery that you can barely grab them, while others are textured and hard to clean. Whether you're sitting on your ball or using it for exercise, you will want something that will hold you firmly while also being easy to clean, and this ball balances the two needs quite well. The rubber material is also resistant to all of the various antibacterial cleaners that I've used on it, and hasn't discolored or softened as cheaper balls can sometimes do. - Very nice to look at. I bought mine in bright red, and between the color and the quality of the construction, it's a very nice looking piece in my home gym. That may seem like an odd thing to point out, but the first ball I bought (from the other company) was cheap looking, while this one looks like something you'd see in a professional gym or studio. Cons: - My only real gripe is their sizing. The size chart seems to be oriented toward people who use these balls as a seat, and not for exercising. At 6'1", their chart recommended that I buy the 75cm ball, which is too large for many exercises. I can sit on it comfortably, but its awkwardly large when trying to do V-Passes or planking. I wish I'd gone for the 65cm ball instead! Review: A Gaming Chair that Works Your Abs - So I learned in December that I have severely hypermobile shoulders, a herniated disk in my lumbar spine, and a inflamed ligament and cam lesion in my hip. I was sent to physical therapy by my wonderful doctor and my physical therapist recommended that I get an exercise ball for at home exercises. I ended up going with Black Mountain due to the high reviews, the fact that it came with its own pump, and that it came in my size and black. I pumped it up the night a received it, which was incredibly straight forward and easy. It did take a bit, but I watched youtube while pumping away with my foot so I didn't grow bored. Since I received it, i have just blatantly replaced my dinning table chair with it and have stopped bothering to sit on my couch when I game. It's a great product and my interaction with the customer service was easy and friendly. My PT definitely loves that I bounce away on it instead of a normal chair for my hours of gaming. My pain has decreased and I've had some relief in my hip. Hopefully, I'll be able to continue to use it after my surgery.

A Gaming Chair that Works Your Abs
So I learned in December that I have severely hypermobile shoulders, a herniated disk in my lumbar spine, and a inflamed ligament and cam lesion in my hip. over-the-top awesome product
i have found this exercise ball to be over-the-top awesome. i am using it in varied ways, and there are so many videos out there to watch for ideas. i have just found the Ask Dr. Jo videos and have downloaded them using the Azul app. i can also use the ball to prop my legs on when my back is out to help me sleep. that doesn't happen often, but it is nice to know that i can use it that way as well as for an exercise ball. it has exceeded expectations and i wish i hadn't waited so long to get one of these balls. i am further especially glad that i purchased this particular ball because it is very reasonably priced and appears to be durable. it is so tacky that my felt-like ipad case almost stays "glued" to it even at a fairly steep angle. if the ball has no room to roll, i can sit the ipad on it and it holds safely while i type or just peruse websites. numerous reviewers have talked about their ball losing air, which is kind of a natural thing. i have had four of the little kid bounce balls in my closet for several years--you know, the kind with handles to hold on to when they bounce around on them--purchased for my grandchildren years ago. they have the same stem system this ball uses, and use the same inflation method, so i am very familiar with it. my suggestion to prevent the ball from losing air is to poke the plastic stem through a piece of cling wrap, such as Saran Wrap, or through some otherwise thin, tacky (as in sticky-ish) plastic. poke it through all the way so that only the plastic stem goes into the opening of the ball, and the thin plastic around the lip of the stem serves as a sort of washer to better seal the stem to keep air from escaping. no glue is involved. i did this and my ball has lost no air since airing it up six weeks ago when it arrived.

Burst after 8 months, used as desk chair, fell hard on butt, suffered concussion from impact.
Review for Black Mountain Products 2000lbs Anti Burst Exercise Stability Ball with Pump (75cm): This ball claims to be anti-burst but it burst while I was sitting on it. I fell from about 70 cm very hard. The impact was felt all the way thru my spine, neck and head. I suffered a concussion. After a loud boom I found myself sitting on the floor; it took me a second to realize what had happened. Iโm 6โ3โ and weight 200 lbs. I have back problems and used the ball to sit at my desk to strengthen my core muscles. I followed recommended instructions to inflate the ball and also used a smooth office chair mat. The material this ball is made of tears apart extremely easily. After the incident I examined the material and the huge tear propagated just by picking up the remnants. I am extremely disappointed with this product and would not recommend it to anyone.

Impressed
This is my first stability ball. I got the 75cm model. It takes a while to get used to, but once I did I found it was quite comfortable to use. I was pleased with how easy the ball was to inflate. I got this ball for its Anti-Burst nature and because I am pretty heavy. I have not been disappointed with the quality so far. I have had this ball about a week now and it has held up to all my bouncing and sitting and exercising. One slight problem I have found is that if I let this ball lean against the wall for any period of time, it will take off a bit of the wall paint.

A Lifesaver During Pregnancy and Beyond
When I was pregnant, my midwife strongly recommended investing in a stability ball. My midwife said that these balls promote a posture that alleviates pelvic and back pain in Mom, while also helping Baby transition to a head-down position in the last few weeks before delivery. If Baby was posterior facing, the ball will help switch baby around, potentially avoiding back labor. She also said there was evidence to suggest that women who used a stability ball in the last couple months of pregnancy experienced shorter labors and deliveries. I figured it was worth a try. I bought a Black Mountain Stability Ball. I was extremely satisfied with the relief I felt in my hips after I started using a ball for sitting vs. lounging back in a couch or chair. My daughter was positioned well during the latter part of my pregnancy. When I was in labor, I rocked from side-to-side on the ball to ease the pain of my contractions. The investment in this ball was worth it just for my experiences during pregnancy and labor. Then my daughter was born, and I discovered more benefits to the ball. During my post-partum recovery, the ball was far more comfortable to sit on than a chair was. If my girl was fussy, she would become calm if I gently bounced or swayed on the ball while I held her. When I started working out again, the ball allowed me to gently ease back into a workout regimen. Now that my girl is a toddler, she loves playing with my stability ball; it is easier for her to grab than a smaller toy, and she likes rolling it from one side of the room to the other. Assembly was a snap. The directions were clear. The pump was easy to use. There were guidelines about what size it should be, so I didn't need to second-guess if I was overfilling/underfilling it. I have always felt my weight was supported. In short: I cannot speak highly enough of this ball.

Great ball
This is a nice stability ball. I'm 5'3" and the 55cm works great. I like that the pump allows you to inflate or deflate the ball depending on how you insert the tube. Be sure to grab some measuring tape to make sure you have inflated the ball to the right specifications. The specifications are listed in the handout that comes with the ball. It will seem fully inflated, but I realized after measuring that I still had a long way to go. I want to re-measure the ball now that I have had it for a few days to see if it lost any air. Now I'm ready to do some pregnancy/labor exercises and I'll have the ball for bouncing with the baby! I also have to get used to the 55cm size, since I used to have a 65cm ball. (And if I was thinking, I might have bought the 65cm ball again, so that I could share with my 5'10" husband. He might have to get his own.)

The BEST office chair!!
I am SO glad I ordered this ball. I use it for my chair at my office. Previously I had been using a ball chair with wheels that was terribly uncomfortable and gave me very little movement and made my back sore. I use this ball on the floor and is far more comfortable and my back is no longer hurting. I highly recommend switching from a standard office chair to a ball for your office job. It has made all the difference in the world for me. I also use one at home to watch TV. This ball is thick and very durable. Everyone who comes to my desk asks about my 'chair' and I let them sit on it and tell them the benefits of using the ball for their chair and they are intrigued. I've convinced my co-worker who has back issues in the cube next to me to order one as well.
