A spellbinding, thrilling and thoroughly entertaining mystery
Alexandra Monir’s SUSPICION is more than just a gorgeous cover. Beautiful, wonderfully descriptive writing, a captivating mystery that delivers a few twists, turns and surprises to keep readers guessing, and a touch of the paranormal to add intrigue make this story an incredibly engaging page-turner.Told in three parts, readers will be introduced to Imogen Rockford, learn of the tragedy that befell her at a young age, discover her family’s dark history, explore Rockford Manor, its gardens and maze, meet the characters whose motives and intentions are suspect, and uncover the secrets that could pose an even greater threat to Imogen, the new Duchess of Wickersham. The prologue immediately grabs with the promise that not everyone will have a happily ever after. It piques curiosity and invites readers to step back in time in Imogen’s life to the events that set things in motion. It sets the stage for an eerie and suspense-filled tale. The author did a fantastic job of creating a lush and idyllic yet haunting setting to serve as backdrop for her story. She constructed a fascinating and detailed history for the Rockford family. She added a number of elements throughout to create doubt, cast suspicion, build tension. And she brought to life a heroine that is likable and relatable with much more to her than meets the eye.The light romance wasn’t this story’s strong point and felt a bit rushed in its development. But as it wasn’t a focal point, it didn’t take away from the read. The story’s paranormal aspects were some of its more interesting ones and a longer look would have been welcome. But the way they were incorporated gave this story that extra layer that made it stand out.SUSPICION blends mystery with the supernatural in a story that is spellbinding, thrilling and throughly entertaining. And with a quick pace, a cast of both appealing and disturbing characters, moments that are dark and chilling, others that are enchanting, others that are shocking, and still others that are heartbreaking, Alexandra Monir’s latest novel is a fabulous addition to the genre.

Fantastic mystery!
Fantastic mystery!I was as excited about this book when it came out as I was about Alexandra Monir’s Timeless series. The setting of the English manor and all the history is interesting enough, but with the added mystery, becomes even more intriguing. From the onset, one is captivated by the story of Imogen, her family secrets, and her special, supernatural abilities. The author is able to give us just the right amount of clues and unveil just the right amount of information that we are blown away by the final unpredictable twists and turns of the unraveling mystery. The world she creates is so real and the characters so endearing that I just didn’t want to leave them.I can’t wait to see what great story the author comes up with next!

Silly and entertaining
Cross the Princess Diaries with Du Maurier's Rebecca, dumb it all down a tad, and throw in some Sabrina the Teen-Aged Witch, and you get this. A better writer could have balanced this and improved characterization, but it was a good romp for $1 on Amazon.

Loved this book!!
Another little gem by Alexandra Monir! I absolutely loved her Timeless series so I had high expectations for Suspicion and I am thrilled to say that I was not disappointed! I enjoyed this one just as much (perhaps even a little more) as the others!! Suspicion is a bit darker with more supernatural elements and twists in the plot, which I found to be incredibly exciting and unique. This is a very engaging and addictive book so set aside some time to read this all at once because you will not want to put it down once you start! As always, her language and descriptions of the settings and their history are beautiful and a joy to read. I loved reading about New York and England and I can't wait to see where her next book will take her to. Perhaps Paris? ;) *nudge nudge* All in all, another fantastic novel by a wonderful author. My only wish is for the next book to be longer! I want more to read!!
