amFilm Essential Screen Protector for iPhone SE 3/2 iPhone 8/7/ 6S/6 4.7"

UPDATE: 2 years later. This is an excellent screen protector, but even more important, the company has outstanding customer service and stands behind its product. After 2 years, cracks developed in the screen protector. While I have not ever dropped my iPhone 6, I can't swear that I may not have had something run into it. Also, I live in an area of extreme heat, and it is certainly possible that heat related issues caused it to crack. I just don't know why it cracked. The package indicated that even after the formal warranty, the company would replace a cracked screen. I was doubtful (2 years later), but they responded to an email the same day. After a reasonable verification that I had purchased the item (Amazon order number), they quickly sent a replacement. I'm exceedingly pleased with this company and their product and next time I need a glass screen protector, I will buy from them. Original review. The packaging is intelligent and complete, and the instructions accurate. The package comes with two screen protectors, each securely wrapped in foam. There is a wet and dry wipe to clean off the iPhone screen, and the instructions show how to prevent dust from causing air bubbles. Each screen protector has tabs on the back peel-off film that allows you to aim and position the screen protector without any risk of touching the adhesive. I found placing the protector easy, and it adhered in manner that was smooth and left no air bubbles. The package includes a tool for smoothing the screen protector down and eliminating air bubbles. I used it to press the screen protector down more firmly, but there weren't any air bubbles I needed to deal with. The real challenge with this, as with any tempered glass screen protector, is that the native screen of the iPhone is beveled. Since the screen protector has a straight edge, a design consideration has to be how closely the protector edge is to where the native screen's bevel drops off. If it goes too far, there is the risk that a "lip" would exist, which could catch and tear off the protector, or crack it. If the edge doesn't go far enough, there is an area that is unprotected. This product's compromise is very reasonable. There is a roughly 1 mm space between the edge of the protector and the point the native screen bevels off. This leads to the reality that the screen protector really only protects against forces or scratches that arrive on its face. Drop the phone on its edge, and the "unprotected" 1 or 2 mm could easily crack the screen. Of course, if you use some form of sleeve, that issue may be avoided. In terms of performance, the screen is thin, and all functions of the iPhone work the same with the protector on as they do without it. There is no interference with camera, microphone, etc. All finger motions (swipe, enlarge, etc.) work. Disclaimer: I'm a real Amazon customer (and Vine reviewer). I bought this product from Amazon. I’ve been using the plastic and newer urethane film protectors that require you to spray a water/soap solution and squeegee on for quite some time. From the protectors that cost $1 for 5 to some of the more expensive protectors, I’ve had experiences with many different variations, and I’ve gotten pretty good at applying them.The urethane protectors require you to spray the film down, then place on the phone, and carefully squeegee the solution and bubbles out, then wait a few hours to dry, then days to clear. These glass protector are instant with no dry time, you literally drop in place, press all over the screen to ensure a good seal, and it's ready to use! The tempered glass takes benefits from both type of older protectors and adds a few additional benefits. The thing I most like about the glass protectors is that it keeps the original glass feel of the phone. Following the instructions, I was able to get a perfect bubble free application on my phone and it looks great! The glass is crystal clear, and does not interfere in any way with the 3D/Force Touch on the 6S. Two glass protectors, two wet/dry wipes, a squeegee, six dust removal stickers, and instructions are included. I didn’t bother using the dust removal stickers, which are essentially a scotch tape to since I didn’t have any specs of dust prior to putting the protector on. To help with dust control I did turn on the shower as hot as it could go for a few minutes to steam up the room. The glass lays flat on the on the phone, but due to the curve on the iPhone 6S’s panel, there is the slightest edge that I feel will eventually collect dust and start lifting at in the future. I’m not too worried about this however, due to the lifetime warranty on these protectors. This protector is only meant to cover the screen itself. One other reviewer noted it doesn't cover the full screen, but I've noticed no problem when properly applied.This is also one of the thicker tempered glass protectors available. Most competitors are approximately 0.2mm thick, whereas this is 03.mm. Some people mentioned that this affects the responsiveness of the 3D Touch, but I haven’t noticed any problems. CONCLUSION: All things considered, this is one of the best values out there for tempered glass protectors. Most others available you only get one, but for the same price you can two of the amFilm, plus it comes with the lifetime warranty. I highly recommend the product and won’t hesitate purchasing again. Get it and protect your very expensive investment! UPDATE 3/3/16: I've had this glass on for some time, and have been extremely rough on it. I started noticing scratches across the screen, especially on the corners. It's hard to see, but there's also a very small chip right above the lower right corner. 9H is supposed to be one grade below diamond (10), and I definitely don't carry loose diamonds in my pocket, but I've noticed some scratching. This protector is probably rated closer to 6-7, but it still suitable protection from keys, coins, and other things you might find in your pocket. I carry a lot in my pockets and I toss my phone around so I expected scratches. The few that are there aren't horrible noticeable so I still highly recommend this product. On another note, while adjusting a bag I ended up tossing my phone about 8 feet in the air and out 10 feet. My phone took a head over heels tumble for another 10 feet and slide face down for awhile after that. Both the phone and the tempered glass survived!

Over the years I had used plastic film protectors on my screens, but the marketing and feedback seemed appealing (on glass protectors) and proceeded to look into the various options. I chose this product from amFilm as I had used their products before. First impression: neatly packaged, everything needed is included, overly simple instructions, glass is notably thicker than the film protectors I have previously used. Application: Initially I was a bit concerned at the overly simple instructions (i.e., summarizing= wash your hands, clean your phone's screen, align and apply), but it was that simple, and almost no bubbles to squeeze out. I was pleasantly surprised as to how easily the glass uniformly just stuck to the screen. Note: I have read various reviews sharing that the glass is slightly bigger therefore it bubbles (or doesn't stick) on one of the sides at the edges; regarding this, I can see this happening if not perfectly centered. I highly suggest taking the time to center protector perfectly onto the screen and there should be no issues. I purchased the one for the iPhone 7 and it was perfect. Again, I made sure that it was centered and even turned on an air cleaner in the room to ensure floating dust didn't land on my phone in the short time between cleaning and applying the protector. Overall: at first, given the low cost and the thickness of the glass I was bit skeptical, but after a few weeks with it (and comparing it to my other phone (to which I applied a new film protector at the same time)) this is clearly a winner, and unlike the previous protectors which I would have to replace every few months, I believe this glass may last years. A comment regarding company's support: I did notice a slight chip on a corner by the home button and reached to the company for advice, and they immediately replied asking for a picture and order number and promptly shipped a replacement screen. I am very satisfied with both the quality of the product, ease of installation (just make sure it is properly centered), and pleasantly surprised at the quick response and resolution of their customer services. I won't be looking else where for any future purchases. Now that I know, I would pay more for this than trying cheaper products from a different company. I hope this helps... Update: over half a year with it and I am very satisfied. Far more resistant to scratches/wear than all previous films I had used. Glass still looks great; granted, I do take care of the phone.

I like the product for the price however it needs to be replaced every so often due to the fact that it cracks very easily. Other than that it is easy to apply it fits the phone perfectly clear view screen and scratch resistant.

*I paid for this item in full, at my expense. I didn't receive this for free or at a discounted price. Of the two screen protectors, one came from a crack (probably occurred during packaging or shipping). Comes with cleaning kits, "squeeze card", dust stickers. I was going to return the product after I saw one of the protectors had a crack in it, but decided out of necessity to use the other screen protector for my phone. From the looks of it, the protector is like a firm plexiglass; I applied some pressure (after seeing the crack) to see how it would bend, since I've seen other reviews of other screen protectors being entirely flexible. (See photos) Packaging sucks, and for that reason this product gets 4 stars. The sleeves that the product comes in are thin and sheer. The protective box seems sturdy by itself, but to protect glass during shipping, not reliable. (See photo, I applied pressure to it and it twisted) Either this box needs to be upgraded, or the shipping and handling needs some work. My product came in a bubble envelope with a hole, so maybe the reason why the protector came cracked was because of that, who knows? The "squeeze card" was also bent and no, I had not used the product prior to the picture. The phone is responsive to the touch, and works fine with the screen protector. Until further notice, this protector seems to be decent for the price it is. Will report back if anything occurs, see photos and make your own judgment. ***EDIT: 7/5/2016 I DROPPED MY PHONE! I was in line at a burger joint, about to pay. I was holding my wallet and my phone in one hand, while trying to open my wallet with the other hand, and my phone dropped face down onto the floor. I'm 5'1, but I dropped it at about chest level. I was so scared to flip it over and see that my screen was cracked, BUT IT WASN'T! Only the glass screen protector cracked a bit in the corner (WILL INSERT PHOTOS WHEN I GET TO BF'S HOUSE), but other than that, my screen is completely fine. THANK GOD! I highly recommend this screen protector! It really does work, and I am ordering my boyfriend a pair, since he has an iPhone 6+. On a side note, the company contacted me twice to ensure that I was satisfied with their product, at which point I told them my other screen came cracked. They apologized and sent me a replacement PAIR for free, and this was aside from my warranty. I originally wasn't going to say anything because it could've been the shipping company's fault, so I didn't want to make it an issue for the TechMatte company, but they were so caring and generous to send me another pair for free. Moral of this review: 1) Don't take the chance of not having a screen protector! 2) This company has really good customer service and their product is amazing. 3) They have a very good warranty! 5/5 for good product, good customer service, and good warranty! So easy to install! I used the "hinge" method of aligning the protective sheet of glass, and THEN raised the cover and pulled the #1 protective tab, which then allowed the cover to drop perfectly into place. With the iPhone 6S, the cover fits PERFECTLY over the active screen portion of the phone, so by aligning against the edges and then using the hole cut-outs for top to bottom alignment it is EASY! I have just done two of these on iPhone 6Ses, and one on an iPad 2Gen, and an iPad Mini. There are two tricks I have successfully used: 1) Align and tape the protective cover before entering a small bathroom. After taking a steamy shower (or running hot water only for 10 minutes), clean the device screen using the cleaning cloths provided, pull the #1 tab being careful to NOT disturb the alignment, and drop the protector into place. Squeegee from center to edges. If bubbles are under screen, carefully pull protector up (tabs are provided on top side of protector) and use the little sticky tabs to lift the dust particle(s) from device screen and protector, and drop protector back down. The bubbles should be gone. If not, rinse and repeat. 2) In a location without a small bathroom to steam up (which drops dust to the floor), turn on all lights, turn off the AC or any source of air movement. Let dust settle for ten minutes and then pull tab #1 and squeegee from center to edges. Watch the YouTube video suggestions and proceed with confidence because you get two chances (protective covers) in each box. So you have a do over included. I could find only one other actual GLASS protector when I recently purchased (May 2016) these AmFilm protectors. Knowing the high quality and hardness of AmFilm (used by my 9 year old grandchild for many months on an iPad mini), I chose AmFilm. The most impressive things to me about the product are sensitivity, resistance to scratches, invisibility, and ease of installation with a company that guarantees your satisfaction for life. Buy this! You will be glad you did! UPDATED - Customer Service was great about replacing my cracked protective screen after a drop ! Learned a new trick - without using the alignment hinges, the screen can be dropped down on the iPhone then slid back and forth to get the final registration PERFECT. One caveat - there must be NO downward pressure put on the protective screen while sliding it back and forth. I placed my fingernails on the iPhone screen and then slid them up against the amFilm edge to push. The other thing is my registration was already pretty close when I dropped the screen. I was mainly moving it back and forth to split the difference between the two side edges in order to have the front facing camera hole perfectly centered on the front facing camera.

I’ve had smartphones for years (like most people) and had used plastic screen protectors forever. I’d recently ventured into the world of glass, which had always seemed super expensive and kind of too much for me. Unfortunately, while I loved the feel of the glass screen protector, I picked a dud and it started to chip and break after just two days of use! I was so disappointed. I decided to give glass one more try, and picked this one in part because it had two in the package. I wanted to have a spare so that I could order a new plastic one if the glass proved to be disappointing again. I’m so glad I tried glass again! I’ve been using this one for a couple of weeks and it’s great! Installation was easy, the instructions were easy to follow, and everything needed to apply it to my phone was included. I actually ended up lifting this up and reapplying a couple of times because there was a tiny speck of dust on the screen and I wanted a super clean installation. I have noticed that there is a bit of a “lip” around the home button and on the edges of the screen. I find it a bit noticeable, especially since I was a plastic protector user, and those are much thinner. I think it’s just super important to make sure that the screen protector is on dead center; otherwise you’ll feel the edge even more. I’m delighted with this screen protector and am certain that I’ll repurchase if this does break at some point. Even more important, I’m sure that my phone is well protected and that if I choose to sell it or pass it on to my kids that the phone’s screen will be in great shape. And for the record, I’ve dropped this one a bunch, shoved it in my purse with keys and coins, carried it in my pocket with scissors, etc. It’s not scratched at all and still looks great!

I originally bought one of those so-called screen "protectors" that actually talked against the tempered glass--but it offered (in its claims) to make the screen shatter--resistant. When I got something altogether different from what the claims stated, I was furious; but one call and I was able to just go ahead and get the tempered glass. I found this EASY to install, and most if not all of the "bubbling" simply went away on its own. That "other" protector left hideous nasty looking bubbles all over my screen, I was livid. Once I got these, I couldn't wait to pull off that other hideous thing and give this a try. WHAT a difference! The screen protector IS a little smaller than the screen--because of the rounded edges of the iPhone 7. I can live with that. I bought a good Otterbox to protect the back and sides, including a lip over the top enhancing both dust and water "resistance" but now I had to put something over that beautiful screen so that things in my pocket like keys and change would never scratch it. And this thing fills the bill "perfectly"... I was amazed at how it covered the screen so beautifully that unless you looked for the edges, you wouldn't even know it was on the screen. I am attaching a few pictures... that ugly looking one is with the old "film" cover which created ugly bubbles and was NOT "shatter" resistant at all. Then you can see how nicely THIS thing works--and I have a spare (I think 2 came in the pack) just in case--and it's WELL worth the price. I love this protector, couldn't be happier and strongly recommend something shatter-resistant to protect that valuable screen on you beautiful new iPhone! (On the Photos: to the LEFT is that flimsy "film" and those ugly bubbles--that is NOT this product. but pictures 2 and 3 (taken with the background turned off so you could see any/all flaws) show how beautifully this thing covers your phone.. the hideous bubbles are gone, and you have that wonderful iPhone "gloss". The "touch" works as well as ever and when the lights/phone are "on".. you couldn't tell that I had the glass protector on it--just a beautiful glass screen. Thumbs up for a very fine product!

These are brilliant. I’d looked at reviews on tech sites for best iPhone 8 protectors and these guys were top recommends on them. I found Amazon had them for the best price and fastest delivery. The screen was as easy to fit as promised with no bubbles (a first for me with screen protectors), the screen is supplied with everything you need to fit it, the instructions are clear and simple and it takes no time at all. The screen is clear and there is absolutely no impact on touch screen or clarity. I have dropped my phone twice from about waist height already since having the protector and, so far so good, not a chip, crack or scratch. Great product and value for money

Da buen aspecto. Todo el mundo prefiere estéticamente el móvil sin nada más pero dentro de lo que cabe da buena imagen. No cubre hasta el final ya que el iphone 7 es redondeado en los bordes por lo que es lógico que no lo cubra. Lo compre fijándome en las evaluaciones de Amazon USA. Y acerté.
