In 2007, over forty people were brutally torn to pieces in Louisiana's Honey Island Swamp. Over the past decade, lone survivor Andrew's (Parry Shen) claims that local legend Victor Crowley (Kane Hodder, Friday the 13th series) was responsible for the horrific massacre have been met with great controversy. But when a twist of fate puts him back at the scene of the tragedy, Crowley is mistakenly resurrected and Andrew must face the bloodthirsty ghost from his past. Review: Great - This movie great. Victor Crowley is ridiculous and gory movie. Perfect for horror fans Review: Laughs, scares and screaming Bloody Gore!!! Victor Crowley Lives!!!! - Such a phenomenal movie! Adam Green and crew really out did themselves this time. If my love for the Hatchet series didn't exist before, it sure does now. Every time I introduce someone to this amazing series they instantly fall in love with it. The lack of CGI and use of real special effects is phenomenal and a relief to a horror fan like myself. I was lucky enough to see Victor Crowley and meet Adam Green in Dallas opening night and was blown away at how good the movie was. It had laughs, scares and most of all Gore with an amazing story. Can't wait to see what Adam Green does next. Definitely my favorite writer and director since Clive Barker. Scream Bloody Gore!!!!

Victor Crowley Is A Grumpy Goose. I don't Think I Like His Attitude..
Summary: Crazy ugly guy kills people... Again. Is this the weakest in the series? Yeah. But it's still enjoyable enough and well worth adding to any collection. So just buy it already.

Slight Spoilers Hatchet is back and A Fantasic Hit In The Horror Genre Again!
The 4th Installment in The Hatchet is better than 2 and 3. Parry Chen was great in the leading role. Felissa Rose was a hoot here as his agent. I love seeing her in horror films she would have stole the show it wasn't for Laura Ortiz who was smart beautiful and honest in their situation. Dave Sheridon is meant to be annoying and dumb but he has a big scene in the movie that shows depth to his character. The story is great ten years after the first killings Parry Chen the sole survivor returns for a book tour. Many people in town think hes the killer and there is no Ghost like Victor Crowley. He succumbs to the pressure of money to go back into the swamps. Meanwhile Laura Ortiz and her two friends are trying to get in touch with him to do a trailer with him for a Victory Crowley movie they want to do. I'll stop there. I know this one wasn't everyone's cup of tea. But I loved it and have watched it ten times. Cheers and happy viewing!

Adam Green Does It Again!!
I'm not going to say anything regarding the story You should go in knowing nothing. It helps if you've seen the Hatchet trilogy, but this stands on its own. The original Writer/Director of the first two Hatchet films comes back to do the fourth installment and does not disappoint. I have loved every Hatchet movie and this lives to the standard set by the other 3 films. Right from the first scene, you'll be laughing and grossed out at the same time and that in a nutshell is essentially what these movies are there for. And if you love the series as much as I do, make sure to watch past the credits for a nice bonus.

My least favorite of the franchise—and it pains me to say it. But there is still gory fun to be had.
Part III SIDEBAR: The last film closed after Marybeth (Danielle Harris; Halloween I-II, The Black Waters of Echo’s Pond) presented Victor Crowley (Kane Hodder; Friday the 13th parts VII-X, Hatchet I-III) with his father’s ashes and watched him melt to death, shooting his decrepit remains as she succumbed to her own tree-impaling. The first three movies took place over the course of a total of three consecutive days (like Friday the 13th parts II-IV). We learned that every day Crowley begins (i.e., reforms) anew until reunited with his father by the hands of the bloodline of those who killed him. Convoluted curse, if you ask me! But those are the rules as we’re told. Writer/director Adam Green (Frozen, Hatchet I-II) returns to the director’s chair for the fourth and perhaps final installment of the Hatchet series. With him, be brings minor horror icons Felissa Rose (Sleepaway Camp), Tiffany Shepis (The Hazing/Dead Scared, Sharknado 2) and Tyler Mane (Halloween I-II) to join Parry Shen (The Hazing/Dead Scared), who returns to reprise his third role (Andrew the survivor/paramedic) in as many movies after playing the part II’s brother (Shawn; killed) of part I’s tour guide (Justin; killed). Only now, Shen has risen to the lead role. Franchise Timeline SIDEBAR: Over the course of three films (2006-2013) we came to learn that, because of a curse, Victor Crowley would respawn every night in the swamp of his origin—which is why he kept coming back to life after nonsensically unsurvivable deaths. Part III ended the curse, but much as the comical demonic resurgence in Ash vs Evil Dead (2015-2018), a Youtube video reciting the incantation resurrects Crowley yet again—now ten years after the three-night massacre (of parts I-III). Much like part II (and III), this sequel opens with a brutal, gorily sloppy opener. Crowley is back to his favorite tactics of mass-dismemberment and yanking limbs from their arterially-spraying sockets. It’s silly, it’s gooey, and I love it. But, also like part II, this opening scene does not forgive the exceedingly boring 40 minutes that follow before the gore and action kick back into gear. Despite having by far the biggest budget of the franchise (about $7M, dwarfing the $1.5M next biggest budget of part I), its delivery is clearly the weakest and, honestly, I thought the budget was below $1M as I watched. The dialogue might be yet weaker than before, and somehow most of this highly budgeted sequel takes place in a pair of weakly designed and ill-utilized airplane sets (interior and exterior). Although my least favorite of the series, there is fun to be had. Brutal head-stomping, squishy face-hammering, scalping, decapitating, limb-severing… and a woman is “violated” by her own severed arm. Yes, it’s fun. But after the outstanding third franchise installment it just doesn’t measure up to what we’ve come to expect. Not even close.
