Recently spent a lot on some skirt and slacks hangers from the container store (around $5 - 6 each). I really wish I had discovered these first. They are a fraction of the cost, work just as well (if not better), and are way less bulky and clunky than the wooden hangers I had previously bought. In the past, I've bought clips like these meant for white plastic hangers that constantly slipped around and tangled up in each other or with other clothes. These clip into place, stay where you put them and, so far, haven't gotten caught on other things in my closet.

Excellent with the Velvet Hangers
Purchased with the velvet hangers and they fit like a dream. None have broken thus far so fair quality. My only complaint is it's hard to open them wide enough to hang my lined business skirts. Does have an inner clasp to grab hangar and hold them in place on it, and loose enough to move them along the hanger with ease. Would recommend.

Meh. They'll have to do.
So...these are just okay, but given the lack of options they get a generous 3 stars.First, I ordered 3 bags of 20 (60 total) for a complete closet makeover that I'm working on. 10 of these either arrived broken or broke while trying to get them on the dang velvet hangers.Second, as alluded to above, installation is a bugger. You have to pinch them all the way open in order to slide them on the hanger. Even then, I was having to force them on and feared that I would wreck the velvet on my new hangers in the process (and I did scrape the velvet in 2 of the hangers - I'm thankful that velvet is tougher than it looks). The majority of the 10 above broke during this process. As soon as I would pinch them open, there was an audible "crack" and suddenly one side of the hanger would open more than the other (it was crooked) or it wouldn't open at all (which became a fun "de-installation" process). This is a great concept, but the execution is just poor. If these were higher quality and opened a little wider, I think installation would be a breeze!Third, I can't vouch for how these are going to hold up. I have my doubts. Given the lack of other options on the market, I'm keeping the ones I had and am exchanging the 10 broken ones for a new bag, but I fully expect to have to continue to replace at least one clip each month. I'm hopeful that installation was the worst of the trauma and that simply clipping and unclipping skirts on and off will go smoothly, particularly since that's their primary job. Right? (Fingers crossed.)Lastly, be aware that the clips don't open very wide at all. If your skirts have thick waistbands, these aren't for you.I can only pray that some manufacturer reads all these reviews and decides to make a similar version in metal (or at least a higher grade plastic).

Great idea, if they only worked
I thought these were a great idea - clips that transform my closetful of thin velour hangers into skirt and pants hangers. But they are not up to the job. They must be forced into place on the hanger bar, and two of the six I used broke as I pushed them into place. The ones that remained intact did not have the strength to clamp firmly onto a pair of women's jeans or a wool skirt. At that point I gave up on them.

Great way to add versatility to felt hangers.
I recently redid my closet and replaced all my hangers with the felt variety. I found these clips after the fact and they are great. I ordered 3 packs all together and they have worked flawlessly. I have had no issues after carefully attaching them to the hanger. The clips sem strong and have helpd up everything I used them with. I would definitely get these again. I could see how they might break if you were not careful when attaching them to the hanger. However, if you take you time, you should have no problems.

This product was horrible. The clips are cheaply made and when I put them on my hangers most would not close fully. The result was there was a wide gap between the teeth of the clips so that my skirts would fall right off, it had no grip! Only about half of the clips were useful, and only barely at that. Those that I could use I suspect will not hold on for long. I am very disappointed with this product.

Almost perfect.
These fit well on the slim velvet hangers. My only complaint is that they slide too easily. When hanging pants or skirts they don't tend to stay where I put them, but will slide toward the middle allowing the clothing to wrinkle and sag. If they fit snugly enough to not slide so easily I would be thrilled. Otherwise they do their job very well. They seem sturdy and capable of handling even heavy weight fabric items.

Works great with our Velvet Hangers!
I bought these to use with our velvet hangers. My children's closets use the Amazon Velvet kid hangers, and my closet uses Le Juvo Velvet Hangers. The Finger Clips work with BOTH hangers. I've read other reviews, saying they are too tight to open. I have not had that experience. I use them to hang skirts and dress pants and haven't had trouble opening them up or with them fitting over my hangers. I haven't tried, but you might have a tough time hanging jeans.
