arm rest torn on the front. is there a replacement available?

Nope, mine broke as well and they never sent me a replacement. It only lasted 3 months.

Are the arms cushioned or are they hard plastic? If they are cushioned have you had issues with them cracking?

The arms are about a 1/2 inch cushioned. No, I have not experienced any cracking and they are a firm cushioning for the wider and heavier sets like my husband and myself.

Is there a warranty for the chair? I bought it towards the end of last September and now the piston is falling through the wheel frame.

Yes, I did get a warranty for my chair. Further, all products have at least a 1 year warranty on them, no matter who sells them. I would contact Staples and work from there.
