Nitecore EC4S - An Excellent Flashlight
It's bright. Batteries last a long time. Multiple brightness levels. Small size. Heat Dissipation. A dim, but visible blue light to help locate the light in the dark. I needed support, which was good. It's hard for me to imagine how I would improve it.

Awesome flashlight!
I love this new light, I haven't tested this out yet but I'm feeling that it will be a great led flashlight. I'll update as soon as possible but I recommend buying this bundle as it's a great price and great shipping. Everything was nicely package and came with everything.

NOW FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT
I KNOW THIS REVIEW SAYS IT'S AN UNVERIFIED PURCHASE, BUT I ACTUALLY DID BUY THIS PACKAGE FROM AMAZON, EXCEPT WITH DIFFERENT BATTERIES AND NO PEN.THIS IS A 100% ALL-NATURAL REVIEW.ABOUT ME...I'm no flashaholic by any stretch of the imagination and I am not being paid off in any way to write this. My investigation, while looking for a new "decent" flashlight, led me to buying this Nitecore EC4S bundle from Eastshine, which I must admit, is better and more expensive than my needs call for. This is a bad habit of mine.FIRST IMPRESSIONS... At this time, I'm not 100% sure how thrilled I am with it (I don't know if it's my expectations were too high or the bundle is a let-down). I will certainly update this writing as I my opinion developes. While the ads for all Nitecore products stress their durability, I wouldn't want to drop this light on concrete, as I'm afraid it would horribly damage the finish or electronics. This is because this light has got some heft that others may refer to as "a solid feel". Rubbing your hand over the finish (when the batteries aren't installed) gives an almost ceramic tone, making me feel like it would shatter if dropped hard. Let's not find out.The EC4S is NOT a flashlight, it's a f'n "search light" that has enough impressive numbers and features to make the flashlight gurus take note. Most flashaholics know Nitecore is one of the better known flashlight manufacturers out there and that EastShine is supposed to be a top-notch battery manufacturer. I made this assumption by going to the Candlepower forums, not by reading reviews on Amazon or eBay.THE SPECS; I will say one disappointing spec I read is that the EC4S's driver circuit runs on base voltage which eats tiny amounts of power while it's off, so it slowly drains the batteries just sitting there over a long period of time. This base voltage method is one type of design that allows "instant on" as opposed to having to reprogram the switch's functionality every time you turn it on.Another disappointing spec, which isn't all that important, but... the 2150 lumens only happens for a short time once it's turned on. That number goes a bit downhill from there. These two minor factors PLUS the high initial cost sort of tarnished the "five star" rating for me, thus, most of the reasoning behind my 4 star rating (it's more like a 4.6 star rating). Please join the Candlepower forums and search for EC4S reviews for complete specs and better information than you'd find from Nitecore itself.ABOUT THE D2 CHARGER; There's two minor things I don't like about the charger.1. As a battery is charging, the display always cycles through 3 specs;A. the battery's nominal voltage,B. charging voltage in milliamps,C. the elapsed time the battery has been charging. These 3 specs continually cycle on the display every 2 seconds. You cannot lock or change the viewing time at all... but you can hit the multifunction button to quick-advance right to the one you want to see, Unfortunately, it only last 2 seconds before cycling again. Hey NiteCore... this needs an engineering re-think! Allow me to monitor the single spec that's important to me.2nd, I couldn't care less about elapsed charging time. All I care about is ESTIMATED charging time. Call me nuts, but I want to know when the battery will be FINISHED charging, not how long I've been waiting for it! Idunno, maybe both times would be good?SUMMARY; I feel bad for the 4 star review, but at this time, I'm just not overly thrilled with the price vs. the parameters of the EC4S and the charger. For $140., it should be mind-blowing. Sorry to rain on anyone's parade, but once again, I will update and/or rewrite this review as needed.NOTE TO MANUFACTURERS; Only comment or contact me with resolves for any problems noted. Please DO NOT contact me with offers of any kind of compensation for a more positive review as I find that to be unethical. If you do, I will note it here in this review.UPDATE 7/2016- Did something really cool on Cape Cod during my vacation with the EC4S 2 weeks ago... Okay, ready... Cape Cod is one giant hook that curls inward more and more into the ocean the farther you go. The hotel I stay at is almost at the end where the hook curls the most, so although the hotel isn't at the very tip of the Cape, it is at the same lattitude, but is just over 2.5 miles away from the tip with a totally straight line over Cape Cod Bay. At the very tip, there's a lighthouse with highly reflctive paint to ensure boats don't go aground in storms. This gave me the opportunity to test the EC4S distance-wise. If you hit the lighthouse with a good beam, it practically glows like it's on fire! All I can say is the EC4S completely lit up the lighthouse which altrnately lit up the tip of Cape Cod at 3AM on July 4th, 2016! I tested a few other good flashlights and two green lasers (which were also quite amazing), but the EC4S was the brightest flashlight by far. I could even see the sand around the lighthouse. Absolutely amazing!

Best Decision is NOT to buy!
Poor design not worth the money. I use it extensively on a daily basis over $100 investment for 1 years use it's not worth it. There's no warranty they say they are but you can never reach them. I even thought it might have been a fluke so I bought a second one both have the same problems the cap inside screws strip out overtime they screwed to the inside of the shaft not on the outside poor design.

alway see description first.
Just thought I give people a heads up. In the pictures shows 2 3400mah batteries. But in description says comes with 2300mah battery. Just wanted to say don't rush and buy. Read first.
