Very handy kit
A decent quality product that’s put together reasonably well, it comes well presented and well packagedIt’s easy to use and works well, it’s reasonably accurate and certainly a handy kit to haveThe price may sound a little high but it’s a decent water test kit and worth a try

Tricky to use and results seem quite coarse
This pricey test kit arrives in a tiny package with instructions that are a real struggle to read because written in such minute print. Why? What possible benefit is there to the unfortunate consumer in shrinking everything down to such a minute size? You only get a few seconds to compare the tiny test strips with the equally miniature chart. It is not easy to be confident of an accurate reading in such circumstances. Moreover, in some cases the results are very coarse. The pH test, for example, is calibrated in huge steps 6.5, 8.5 9.5 and so on, which is quite a crude measure.

A simple to use and handy set of tests for your household water supply
It’s taken a little while to get round to using this, but it has been a fun exercise. This set of tests helps you discover more about your water supply. We have just had our central heating system replaced and have gone to a combi boiler meaning we have drinking water at all cold taps throughout the house. That being the case, it’s nice to reassure yourself that the water is worth drinking.I haven’t done the bacteria one yet as that requires a bit more ‘effort’ on my part (and the requirement of a UV test - which I do have somewhere in the garage, I just haven’t found it yet), but the others are all simple dip tests. There are a decent number of tests to be done in this kit, including the prerequisite ‘hardness’ that we all would do well to test for. I live in a known ‘hard’ area for water, but the test showed it wasn’t as hard as I had been led to believe by the neighbours, so I am able to set out dishwasher and washing machine’s settings with some degree of confidence now.The dip tests are all easy enough to do and the colour chart helps take you through the process and explains what the different values are.Overall, we have actually quite enjoyed doing these tests and have learnt a few things along the way. I will get round to doing the bacterial test as soon as I can find my UV light, but the instructions look easy enough. I like that there are two of each dip test so that you can do a repeat test at a later date. If there is a particular chemical you’re wanting to test for, then you’d probably want to hunt it out specifically. I notice for example that there is no fluoride test which I think is surprising considering all the hoo-ha there was since the 1960s. It should be ‘around 1mg’ so it would have been handy to discover for myself what the concentration is in this area. I may get a specific test for that done now that my interest has been piqued.

Overall a great DIY test but not everything= requires a UV light
This test is really well presented for the average Jo(e) to complete in the home environment. I got this to test the water from a spring near my home. The instructions are extremely well written and easy to understand in plain English. Scientific language is at a minimum. The instructions are easy to follow. The kit itself is pretty good. However some of the testing strip have short Use By dates on, ie Nov 2020 which is seven months away, but that's probably the nature of the chemicals. Other Use By dates vary with the longest being March 2023.There is a very easy to use reference card for comparing the strips to. And a handy results card to write and compare your results on. All the information required to determine whether your water sample is safe to drink is included. The tests are all included. However, please be aware of what is kot included. In order to test for bacteria and E coli the sample water taken must be incubated at 35° for 24 hours or for 48 hours at 25°. So that may cause a problem for the home user who may not be able to do that.Once the incubation period is complete you can have the results for the presence of Coliform. But if you require E Coli results then the user must use a UV light. I didn't have one immediately to hand and I didn't expect I needed it as the blurb Amazon suggested the kit has everything required. If the Amazon blurb stated this or the kit contained a UV torch I would rate this product five star.

Very interesting test
We have a well outside the back of our house that used to be used as the main water supply hundreds of years ago, we’ve always wondered if it’s still safe to drink and now we will get our answer. We haven’t got down to it just yet but we have used half of the kit on our mains water inside the house. It is a very easy to use test, some results are available in minutes and the bacteria tests take a little longer. This is what is included in the pack;1 x Coliform Bacteria test with simultaneous E.coli detection2 x Tests for each: free & total chlorine, nitrate & nitrite, pH, total alkalinity, total hardness, copper, sulfate, iron, hydrogen sulfideOur water is very hard and seeing the results I think I will now invest in some sort of filtration system.

Missing test strips
One test strip was in a transparent bag without any indication what it is and the result was pinkish what can be 2 different result but one test is fully missing too so I have no idea what they are. An other type there was only one in the pack instead of two. The rest was OK.
