The Agony of Alice (1)

My daughters and I read this book for our mother-daughter book club, and I had to put the book down a number of times because I was laughing so hard! I also like it because Alice doesn't have a mother and the book really does a good job of illustrating what a mother's role is for the pre-teen/teen years and shows how important other role models are for girls who don't have mothers. My daughters are at the age where they sometimes don't want me around but this got them to think about how difficult it would be without me.

I also lost my mom at a young age and this book perfectly describes what it is like to grow up with out your Momma. Loved every moment.

Love love this book I remember reading the series in middle now I'm 29 and I want to 're read the whole series we find Alice going through life changes and maturity. With a new town and school year how will our dear Alice fare? Read to find out

My daughter read this book and cannot wait to continue her story. My daughter loves a good series and this one is certainly that. I do not even know how many there are (too many to count) but she likes that Alice is followed from small child to adulthood. She can relate to Alice as in the book Alice is 11 and my daughter is 10.

I love this book it is very interesting and it teaches you that you can make it even without that special person in your life. This book also teaches you how to grow up. I give this book 5 stars and recommend it to anyone who needs that special person in their life so they can learn how to grow up : )

Read it when I was about 12, bought it as gift for a friend's daughter who just turned 11 and she told me she felt identified with the character. Love, love this book. Can't wait for my daughter to be old enough to read it.
