Necesita potencia

Great piece of kit.
(I already have an Xperia phone, NEX-7 camera and e-mount lenses, so this was an easy decision for me) It's just arrived. Only a few days later than originally expected (on release) due to demand. First impressions are good. Note 1. Don't try to pair the phone while it's charging. It will not work. Need to disconnect USB first. Just touch the NFC spots together to turn on the camera and launch the app. Brilliant! Note 2. The NFC chip is (sensibly, I suppose) non writeable, so I couldn't set it as a key to unlock my phone too. That would've been awesome. I love the touch a spot to focus on it, and the transfer speed isn't too bad (2Mb images). All my e-mount lenses work as expected. Note 3. The Bracket Pro app that can be downloaded to Sony WiFi phones, doesn't appear to be available as an Android app (yet). I hope that will change soon as it was a functionality to my NEX-7 that I have always craved - remote firing of bracket shots for HDR combining later. The range from which the camera can be operated is more than adequate for use with a tripod or grip mount, and although there is a bit of "lag" it's tolerable. How this will work when capturing "moments" will be interesting. The shutter instruction is faster than the preview, so I'm expecting (hoping) that if I watch the action and shoot based on that, I'll capture what I would see half a second later on the screen. Using is with the Xperia camera attached is a bit weird, but once you get used to supporting and gripping the lens, rather than the phone (like a camera body) it feels fine. I'm sure I'll adapt to that quickly. Looking forward to trying it out properly, when the rain stops persisting down.
