It really works!
Most of all of the various shower valves drip — big time. No, not drip, run slowly. Dribble. Not this valve. Not a drop drips. Nada. I has a nice, smooth, bright finish, and a basic industrial design.I installed this on a shower hose for a hand-held shower in addition to the fixed shower head. The fixed shower head leaks when I use the typical twist knob. As I use the hand-held shower less, I didn't want it to drip at all. This Sumnacon valve does the job. It cuts water flow to 0% and can be used to coarsely adjust flow of you felt the need.A couple of FYIs:Installations are not all the same. While the threads match up, different fixtures have different depths and often require fine tuning. Teflon tape may or may not be enough to stop leaks. You may have to add washers. Pipe joint compound may be required. (I use it for behind-the-wall stuff.) Some threads will almost always show, sometimes you get a good match and they don't. This applies to any addition to the plumbing. This will reduce water volume and possibly pressure. The arm going into the wall has an ID of approximately .66". Depending on your area, that's a high Gallons Per Minute. Anything between it and your body lowers that GPM. The maximum flow out of a shower head is supposed to be 2GPM. Any valve you add has a passage of about .25" or less, reducing volume. The Sumnacon valve has two small holes that are covered by sliding baffles when the knob is operated. I'd estimate them to be less than .25" in total area. That's a rough estimate. If your shower head is more restrictive, then this valve will have no negative affect when fully open.It would be very helpful if manufacturers indicated the maximum GPM for all fixtures or devices attached to an arm or bib, just as most do for shower heads.

Just what I was looking for!
I read many reviews for this particular brand and others, in the end deciding on this one! If this 60 year old on disability with limited strength in her hands can install this easily, then anyone should be able to! I did not have any plumbers tape and live quite a distance from the closet store. I installed it without the tape and was very pleased that so far, no leaking! Now I can turn the water off completely with this diverter saving a lot of hot water in my tiny water heater tank while showering! It especially comes in handy when bathing my 10 lb. poodle who hates her baths so they take much longer, therefore, once again, saving a lot of warm water on her! This is exactly what I was looking for making me a very happy lady!

Shower head drip gone!!!
Like several other reviewers, I bought this to fix a leaky shower faucet that was unserviceable. With several similar products to choose from, I got lucky with this one. I needed a device that would completely shut off the water, not just reduce the flow, and this one really does the job. The valve is a quarter-turn ceramic type used in many newer faucets and is therefore designed as a shutoff. My drip is completely gone, and the repair was fairly easy. The only problem I had with the installation was tightening the fitting too much the first time and cutting the rubber washer. My bad. I bought a new washer to replace the one I damaged, taking care not to crank it down too tight. Perfect!

Good but not perfect, but it solved me leaking problem.
Worked well to stop a drip from our shower head that I couldn’t fix even after replacing the inner shower levers gasket. Only reasons I didn’t give it 5 stars is because the side handle is attached with a set screw to the lever mechanism and it was loose from the factory, but I simply tightened it with an Allen wrench. After using it for a couple of weeks it’s developed a small leak from the lever that attaches to the inner moving part. On the plus side, even though the inner mechanism still blocks about half the inner diameter when fully open, I didn’t notice any loss of pressure after installing it.

Saved an expensive plumbing bill for a leaking shower valve
I bought two, intending to do a second shower head. And lucky for me, because the first one leaked from the slot that the tab handle moves in. But the second one works great, other than needing to be tightened down hard to prevent a drip from the threads, even with teflon tape. The action is smooth and easy. It shuts off totally. It saved me from tearing out a wall to replace old leaking valve handles that modern washers don't fit. My rating would be 5 stars if one of the two wasn't defective. Amazon promptly refunded, and I will re-order. Looks and feels like a quality product.

Yes, it lowers pressure; but not that much. Otherwise, good build quality and easy install.
This would be five stars if the actual valve design was a little difference (perhaps use of a ball-valve). This valve does reduce the amount of available water pressure, even at "full open". This is because the valve design has it sitting in the fluid path. Nevertheless, the amount of reduction is limited; perhaps around 15% or so.That said, I am still pleased with the valve and its performance. It works well enough for my application that I won't fret further.

Works Perfect
If you have high water pressure coming to your home and need a way to regulate flow at the showerhead rather than mess with the meter, this is the best option. Took probably 5 minutes tops to install: remove the shower head and Teflon tape (if any), replace the tape at the pipe, screw on this flow control valve, add Teflon tape to the valve, then screw on the shower head. Be sure all is tight, move the valve control to the center, then turn on the shower and adjust to the strength you prefer. So simple.

Wife couldn't be happier! And neither am I.
After suffering for years with a control valve that operated by means of a small rod to push-one-way-for-on / push-the-other-way-for-off that was hard to operate and got in the way of the wall-mount / hand-held shower selector ... this unit is a breeze to operate. It's overall length is enough to not interfere with any other control. Has a large enough selector "handle", but not large. But most importantly it is so very easy to turn full on or full off or anything in between with a flick of a finger. And it is of all metal construction. Couldn't be happier.
