Vanquish 340 Multi-Frequency Metal Detector, Easy Fully-Automatic Hunter with Simple Controls and Waterproof Coil

This model and brand came recommended to me by a pro medal detectorist who has a popular YouTube channel. She uses high-end thousand dollar Minelabs, but said for my $200 budget this would be the one I should get. She was right! This thing is amazing. Setup and ready to use a seconds, and very accurate! No lag in beeps and even though there's no pin point feature it's accurate enough to actually hit the spot every time. If you learn the swipe method to pin pointing it's even easier to locate. I found a penny and dime 4" in the ground with my first try. It was spot on with the coin detection and location. I would suggest also buying a cheap pin point wand as this makes life much easier when trying to locate tiny objects in deeper soils and sand. You can pick one up on Amazon for around $20 and they work just fine. But don't skimp on your detector! Get a Minelab. I had a very limited budget and had first purchased a $100 dollar off-brand unit and was nothing but frustrated with it. It lagged, wouldn't detect accurate, and would get a lot of background noise and false detection. I wish I had saved my $100 and put it into this unit first. My advice, spend an extra $100 and get this unit! Your life will be much happier and make this hobby far more fun and worth it. I've now found .11 cents with it so far and only have $198.89 left to find to pay for itself. LOL It's a great hobby to get you out walking and you never know what you will find! It's super fast and easy to setup, lightweight but sturdy, adjustable. Some reviews complained it was too flimsy. I would say it's not flimsy, but strong and lightweight. It's plastic so it won't rust when you are out in the water or rain but it's strong. You don't want to be swinging something heavy for hours. I've used this for at least 2 hours at a time and never got tired and never a sore muscle. This unit also comes with a Micro USB port in the battery compartment so you can install MineLab software updates to keep your unit working its best! I updated mine right after I got it. If you are looking to get into detecting and only have a $200 budget, you can't go wrong with this brand and model! It comes with a 3 year transferable warranty as well. I'm new to this hobby and loving it. Hope this review helps others like myself.

It is a very basic metal detector it's pretty much turn on and go. The multi IQ function is fantastic as is all the minelab models. This is a basic functionality metal detector which is easily usable from adults. Write down to kids. If you have very little experience in metal detecting, this is your option That will probably suit your best as you begin your journey in metal detecting and the learning curve that comes with the hobby... The coil is great, it's not too big, not too small. There is no skid plate for it. The machine seems like it is made very cheap. But it does do a great job detecting metals.

The metal detector works great. Received in perfect condition. I have only used it once so far and it works perfect. Easy to learn the settings and I am very happy the way it works. A great deal for the price.

This detector is very simple to use. Truly a turn on and go machine. It has excellent detection depth and accurate target ID with excellent battery life. It is very compact, transportable and gives high performance for the price. Some users might not need to upgrade to a more complex machine.

I've had my Tesoro Silver Umax for close to 25 years and decided to upgrade. I've only been detecting with the Vanquish 340 for about 1/2 hour over previously detected ground and have found numerous wheats. The Vanquish 340 is amazing and I cannot wait to detect longer tomorrow at a few tot lots. Will update more if any issues. Update found silver in the yard of our old farmhouse. Very pleased with this machine.

This beginner detector can outperform a lot of high end detectors. It’s got a lot more money worth of tech in the plastic head unit. I absolutely love this detector, I’ve found silver coins and wheat pennies, all sorts of rings, and lost pieces of history. I’ve beat the heck out of the Double D coil in rocky rivers and creeks, and it has served me very well on countless adventures. The simultaneous multi frequency is excellent for detecting a quarter that is hidden by a big pop can or bolt up to a foot under the ground sometimes even deeper on higher discrimination levels. I will be buying Minelab until I die.

This item has taken almost 1 month to be delivered. The box looks like it has been thrown around and there is evidence that I am not the first recipient. I believe that given the condition I think this is a returned item. I ordered this as a new item!! On opening the box, I could tell that the item had been removed from its holdings and had been repacked. Has this item been returned because it was faulty? Unfortunately I leave on a business trip tomorrow (November 7th 2023 so I will not be able to test if it is in correct working condition until I return. I am very much not happy about receiving this item in such a condition.

The product was fully functional - no weirdness. This is one of the best metal detectors you can buy, if you want simplicity and for a competitive price.

This thing is great , I’ve only had it a few days but I’m finding things I wouldn’t expect to find , tiny bullet casings , size 4 lead shot all at over 6 inches down , found what we believe to be a Roman coin ( not confirmed yet) and an 1855 silver sixpence, it’ll find iron all day long , rusty old horseshoes at a foot deep , you can filter out the iron and soon get used to its sounds , highly recommended
