The Bone Farm: A Jane Hawk Case File

The Bone Farm came as an audio book only - but since I've recently come off a high of reading the whole jane hawk series, I couldn't resist.It's my first audio book and it was a bit odd hearing Koontz's word in someone else's voice (as opposed to the voice I hear in my head when I read. LOL.) but I quickly acclimated.The premise is that this is one of the cases Jane worked on while still in the FBI. Jane and her partner are following a lead on a notorious serial killer known as the "mother hater." But I think that's all i can say without giving spoilers.Suffice to say it was great, fast paced, clever and had a pretty good twist in it. Not sure if Dean is planning to do more of these jane files, but if so, i'll probably get them.

Love reading Dean Koontz!!! He is my favorite author. This book will not disappoint you.

This novella was pretty good and I enjoyed the story. There were two narrators, a male & a female. I did not really enjoy the narration of the lady, I felt she over inflected and her tone of voice did not match with the words being spoken. The male narrator was more preferable to me. This was my first audio book and based on this experience, I much prefer reading a book myself. What I liked about listening to an audio book, is I was able to listen to the story while doing other things, such as exercising, cooking and cleaning. I am currently reading my 2nd Jane Hawk novel and I liked hearing a story about her work while in the FBI. Despite all that I wrote, if another Jane Hawk novella was released via audio book......I’d purchase it if that were the only option.

This was interesting to see Jane in action before her husband ended up dead. Good to read. However, I think Mr. Koontz still uses too many descriptive and flowery phrases that get in the way of the story.

Loved this little book. It wasn't too long or too short. I don't like books with a lot of "fluff" and this story had the right amount of what ya needed to know.
