Criminally overlooked sleeper keyboard for the serious typist whom doesn't want RGB everything.
Thus far a phenomenal Keyboard. The EagleTec KG010-N comes with no pointless "frills" like extra media keys , macros or RGB everything which seem to be marketed to the more tryhard of the "Gamer" market. This keyboard won't get you any "Gamer cred" but it can DEFINITELY keep up with ANY of the overpriced light polluting gamer keyboards from well known hype salesmen.Think of it as a "sleeper" , it's not obvious, it's not obnoxious but it has it where it counts. What you get instead is a very tough aluminum spine keyboard with very little if any flex from it's 3mm aluminum plate and really good Cherry MX Blue clone switches which feel very tactile and responsive. The keyboard indeed does have full N-key rollover , as I have tested with both hands and all keys pressed register with no hiccupsThe build quality for the price is top notch returning to the stiffness of the aluminum spine of the keyboard , there are IBM Model M's out there today with more flex , it's pretty darn rigid and durable overall. The downsides are that the rigidity coupled with the relative weight, the choice of cloning Cherry MX Blue switches which are loud in their own right when bottomed out and ABS lower compartment the exposed backplate screws into means that this keyboard can be rather loud if you have heavy hands and even if you don't it can still be faintly harmonic.I am experimenting with using both silicone and buna o-rings with the keys provided to great success , the silicone O-rings seem to silence the sound of bottoming out quite significantly and it definitely helps remove any harmonics this keyboard may have.Other than that my only other gripe is one which can not by any means be really offered factory : Double shot PBT keycaps as opposed to the printed ABS keycaps which come equipped form factory. The ABS caps are expected for something of this price brackets and really on any keyboard of much higher price levels ( looking at you Razer...) an aftermarket set of PBT keycaps will go a long way to increasing the already impressive longevity and build quality of this board.APS plastic is serviceable by no means is it ever to be considered a "bad" thing, but PBT keycaps will not develop a "shine" and Double shot keys means that you will by no means under even extended nominal use ever wear out the lettering on any key.My last "gripe" is that the 3 LED's used to indicate Num Lock , Scroll Lock , and Caps Lock (cruise control for cool but you still have to steer.) is almost frighteningly bright.Let me rephrase that statement , the LED's on the board are not Surefire 6P house clearing "Mount this light to your weapon and clear this dark building soldier!" levels of stupid bright but are more in the "this is potentially distracting" / WAY too focused / can see it from the other side of the room straight beam If there is any vapor , mist , smoke or particulate matter in the air levels of brightness / focus. The lights themselves are blue LED's in the near 50 lumen output variety if you type in a relatively bright environment with the keyboard flat then this will most likely be no issue but if you use the leg risers build in this may be distracting. The bright indicator LED "problem" can be fixed also with a light touch with a black magic marker . The light will still shine through but will be dimmed considerably. What you have with this keyboard is quite possibly bang for buck the absolute best "daily driver " keyboard you can purchase for the money . I HIGHLY recommend it , and with 2 inexpensive mods I can foresee this keyboard lasting your average user or even gamer for many many years if not decades to come. If you do not buy it for this purpose , still consider this keyboard with very positive regard as an excellent backup to some of the best keyboards ever made.Pro's :RIGID: absatively , posilutely not a trace of any annoying flex or creak here whatsoever , end of story.Great Build quality : this thing will most likely outlive most computers it is attached to at least thrice-fold.No RGB light pollution from the keys : this makes for a more subtle and classic style .VERY responsive Cherry MX Blue clones : With the quality of each switch put into this board you'll definitely not be left wanting for anything you may desire out of a good tactile typing experience.Industry standard switch posts and layout : This keyboard is very easy to modify to exactly what you like , if you are into that sort of thing and want to take your experience those few steps further.Cons :Slightly Harmonic : if you type with authority you most likely will bottom out they keys and if you are typing like such on a thin desk the reverberations WILL equal more sound , this may be an annoyance to some and or a hindrance to others , but this can be fixed with a cheap packet of O-rings .ABS keycaps : To the average user this will not mean much but if you type a lot then the lack of double shot PBT keys is something which may leave you second guessing , but understand PBT keys are not cheap , double shot PBT keys much less so. But this keyboard will accept aftermarket keycaps.Stupid bright Blue indicator LED's : Perhaps it is for the best that the keys are not backlit as the 3 indicator light can not be missed and if were used at night would absolutely wreck your peripheral night vision for up to half an hour in a mere glance of them when on/ active. Thankfully this too has a cheap / free fix.

perfect office keyboard
Outstanding value and perfect fit for the office setting. I prefer full size keyboards for work since the numpad comes in handy. I would skip the backlit version because the font looks cheap and the backlighting would make it stand out. With the non-backlit version, you get keycaps with a very generic font and decent feel. I do wish the extra directional arrow legends on WASD and the numpad were not included (my "gaming" keyboard doesn't even have these, and this is no gaming keyboard)The build is solid, clean, and very discreet - people in the office will more than likely not notice it (less chance of it growing feet). The Outemu Browns are awesome. Perhaps some of my favorite switches to use to date. Great feel and sound, won't annoy any of your coworkers. This keyboard punches way above its weight class. Buy one for work. Buy one for home. Buy one for your cat. It'll set you back less than a piece of avocado toast.

Excellent Keyboard, With Flaws
This is an excellent keyboard with very nice blue-equivalent switches (clicky with tactile bump), with a very attractive metal mounting plate that acts as an exoskeleton for the keyboard, giving it a great amount of strength and rigidity. The only noticeable downside to these keyswitches is that they present a little bit of key wobble when compared to genuine cherry switches, but nothing noticeable or even slightly hindering when typing. In these regards, this keyboard greatly exceeded my expectations, and has been a pleasure to type on. I don't see myself replacing the main body of the unit until it starts physically failing. However, despite the excellent mounting plate and the good-value keyswitches, there are a few unmistakable flaws with this keyboard. First off, and most obviously, the keycaps are absolutely NOT doubleshot injection moulded on the non-backlit versions of the keyboard. They're screen printed, and the printing on them isn't very good (see attached picture). You can also see a little bit of keyshine already forming on them because the material they're made from is rather cheap ABS, and I've only been using this keyboard for a few months now (the keyboard was delivered mid December 2016).If you're worried about the not-so-great keycaps, consider this board a "blank" with complementary cheapo keycaps included so you can use it right away, because for $40, it's a great full-sized keyboard. Like I said before, the keyswitches are very functional cherry-equivalents, and they are compatible with pretty much any cherry-type keycap you can find online. The back of the keyboard is very plain, with small - but not spindly - little raisers on the back end (which do not have any grip to them, by the way), with TINY little pads near the front. These skid pads in the front don't do their job very well as - you can see from the attached photos - that they hardly make contact with the desktop at all when the feet are raised. Coupled with the fact that the keyboard isn't very weighty, it does slide around on your desk with little force, but I've never had it slide around while typing, and personally I don't think that would be a problem people would face. The Number Lock, Caps Lock, and Scroll Lock LEDs in the upper righthand side of the board are pretty bright, but only slightly brighter than the Logitec logo on my G402 mouse, and lean more towards true blue, whereas the Logitec LED leans more towards cyan (but not by much). Finally, the branding badge up at the top center gives off quite a bit of reflected light from almost any angle due to the circular nature of the engraved corrugation. This could be a pro or a con, depending on what you like, and is definitely not a dealbreaker for me.And as a small note: on my model - as shown in the images - the machine screws on the front of mine are painted black, which is something I actually prefer, while in the product images, they're not painted at all.Overall, this is a GREAT entry-level keyboard for anybody looking to get into mechanical keyboards, or maybe for enthusiasts looking for a cheaper alternative to a full set of blue switches on a metal backplate, as it's pretty affordable and the parts that matter most are the parts that shine the most in this product (in my opinion). Plus, since it's got cherry style switches, it's somewhat customizeable.

Quiet keyboard with adequate tactile feedback
The keys are Cherry Brown, so they are quiet and do have enough feedback to make typing so much more easier. There is good backlighting - in white - and I like that as I require the keys to be lit to type and not really a gamer to feel in the dark for multicolor keys.

Highly reliable, well made, simple yet elegant, good typing feel
This is my second Eagletec keyboard. My first one was essentially the same keyboard but with blue switches. I have used that one at work for programming and documentation for the last 2 years and love it.When it came time to replace my Logitech gaming keyboard (MX Brown switches) at home which had started to break down (after only 2 years!), I searched to see if Eagletec made a brown switch version of the same keyboard, and they did! I have been using this keyboard for a few weeks now, and it's just as good as the last keyboard I ordered. This keyboard has good workmanship and the materials feel very nice. The anodized aluminium top plate is elegant, durable and feels good to the touch. The keycaps feels nice and solid and don't have that cheap feeling you sometimes get with dodgy keyboards. I am still using the same keycaps on my last Eagletec after 2 years of hard use while I had to change the ones on my Logitech, so that's a testament to their quality. There are obviously better and more expensive keycaps out there, but these are totally fine. The backlight is not uber-bright yet very clear, and that's fine with me since I don't like my keyboard burning my retinas. You can adjust the intensity the backlight as well as turn on many animated and interactive backlight modes, if you like these things. You can also lock the Start button to avoid triggering it during a gaming session. The status lights (Caps lock, num lock, scroll lock) however, are too bright and blue, and can get a bit annoying. In conclusion, if you want a reliable, simple and well made mechanical keyboard either for gaming or typing, these keyboards are hidden gems. No marketing, no gimmicks, no fancy box, just a good slab that feels good to type on.I highly recommend adding O-rings to the keycaps to improve the typing experience. I use black 40A 1.5mm o-rings to improve the feel and reduce the noise a bit. Always use a keycap puller and not your hands to remove the keycaps! For those who know, these keyboards use Outemu switches. They sometimes get a bad rep, but I got nothing bad to say about them. They really feel like Cherry MX switches, maybe a bit heavier, which I prefer. Some people really prefer the Gateron switches, but I only have experience with Cherry, Outemu and Razer switches. Outemu felt the best for me honestly. They really need the O-rings though.

Actually a really great value for the money
It's getting harder and harder to find mechanical keyboards with brown switches, regardless of who makes those switches. There's pretty much zero flex on the deck which is great when typing a lot. The keyboard doesn't have that annoying ping that less expensive keyboards use and I actually appreciate the lack of RGB on the keyboard since I bought the one with the white backlight. I use the keyboard for writing code, not gaming and don't need any of that RGB.The key presses are louder than you would think, but I guess a typist would appreciate that. As for the tactile "bump", you don't really feel that so much as the resistance of the keystroke itself that makes it feel like a typists keyboard.Overall, really like it. Wish it was just a smidge quieter and that the tactile bump was a little bit more pronounced.

Nice keyboard for any budget.
I ordered this to replace my second Red Dragon that went wonky. I remember reading about eagletec in my quest to find an affordable mech. The brown switches on this KB provide just the right amount of clickiness, although next time I will get something a little more clicky. The white LED backlighting is very nice compared to gaudy reds and blues or rainbow. So far so good. I don't expect more than a year out of this keyboard, but we'll see.
