Have a Raspberry Pi 5 with the M.2 HAT? Need to add another HAT or access the GPIO pins? These headers are the answer! I have a project where I need to use a relay powered by 3.3V GPIO pins. Pins extend through the M.2 HAT for access. Without this header, there was no way to attach jumpers. Perfect solution for me. Recommend you keep these in your tool box :)

These are solid quality headers and are great for creating stacked PC board projects. I wasn’t able to find them in a 2x25 size but was able to cut off a 2x5 chunk off of one of the 2x20’s with a Dremel cutoff wheel and with a little cleaning up with a file I was able to create a home brewed 2x25. Worked great!

I bought these for my arduino when making stackable shields. These are for the end on the mega2560 cpu boards. The pins are the nice hefty square pins, not the cheap flimsy flat ones. Overall good quality.

I have several Raspberry Pi Model 4B that I use for my work. The heat sinks that I use do not allow for connecting a 40-pin cable to the breakout board. These stacking headers are the answer to that problem. The only issue that I had was poor packaging. The pins got slightly bent and I had to gently straighten them to get the header and socket to mate. Other than the packaging, the product works well. 4 Stars due to poor packaging.

Without these you pretty much have to do twice the soldering and offset your add on board, or make them non-stackable. I've seen some people using them as extenders in the comments, they'll work for that, but the shorter pinned 2x20 socket riser header/gpio extenders from adafruit and sparkfun will leave less bare pin (which is a great opportunity for accidental shorts) exposed.

I used one of these to effectively raise the connection location on a Raspberry Pi (not included). The case around the 40 I/O pins is so close, that a standard 40 pin cable wouldn’t fit. Other enhancements wouldn’t fit, like the display shown. But adding this stacking header made it work as you can see. The display card is not part of this product either.

These Seem to be well made by are NOT gold plated. More like tin plated?
