The teachings of a true initiate
I spotted this book in a local shop and picked it up, intrigued by its title. After flipping through a few pages, I knew I had to read it cover-to-cover, and now that I've devoured this title twice (in two marathon sessions!), I'm looking for more books from this wonderful teacher and initiate.According to this book's introduction, Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov spent most of his adult life in Paris, lecturing to a group of devoted followers and expanding upon the teachings of his own master. Although he didn't write any books himself, his early lectures were often recorded by stenographers (and later, on audio- or videotape). After Aivanhov's death, the transcribed content of these recordings were edited and published under his name.Aivanhov was clearly an initiate. He was also a great teacher, communicating his ideas clearly and in simple terms. I've read quite a few books about Occult Geometry, and for the most part Aivanhov agrees with better-known teachers from the West. However, Aivanhov's direct teaching style gave me several new insights, particularly regarding the geometric form of the hexagram and its meanings."The Symbolic Language of Geometrical Figures" only touched on Qabalistic correspondences very briefly, but some of Aivanhov's attributions seemed odd to me. I have a feeling that I either misunderstood the author's intent here, or that I may disagree with certain aspects of Aivanhov's Qabalistic system, but this is such a small part of this book that it barely deserves mention! This is a wonderful book and I'm hungry for more of Aivanhov's work. Look for more reviews in the future!

he is one of the best.
Bar none in my opinion next to R. Steiner. Can't go wrong with any of his many books across varied topics.Direct, simple and profound. After many years of seeking out different esoteric metaphysical philosophy's and cosmologys seeking to find materia to identify with, he is one of the best.
