WCW/NWO Revenge (Renewed)

This was a really good game for the time.A big step forward from its predecessorcalled WCW World Tour.What's good is fairly improved graphics,the characters move faster, and there isa cheat to escape danger (by pressingthe analog stick).The wrestlers actually walk down theramp, instead of magically appearing ina ring surrounded by fans.(A side note on graphics is the audiencedoes look 2 dimiensional.)When you really get good, you can testyour skill in a handicapped match.You can change wrestlers names.You can also change some of theirwadrobe. The features weren't totallymastered by THQ yet, but it was a goodenough new feature on this game.There is also 4 versions of each wrestler,allowing you to see, use, or change theirwadrobes.The bad is that:The graphics aren't totally refined (I wasable to create some better (or more realistic)looking characters in Wrestlemania 2000)The booklet doesn't tell you the exact wayto counter moves. It's highly somethingthe computer picks randomly and let'sitself do more often.Even playing against a friend, thecomputer may favor one human.Matches may be highly filled with a playerhaving an easy time with an enemy, butthe enemy often "hulks up" and won'tget pinned.Also if you are about to beat the opponent,you can be sure that's where there's goingto be a run in. Depending on who yourmanager is, they may not even come tohelp you and you're left fighting 2 people.Other times it feels like the computer justwants to shove you around for a while, notletting you do anything. I remember manytimes throwing my controller at the game.(But in those instances, be glad theprogrammers put in that cheat so youknow you don't have to lose a match.)I want to also talk about the cover.It has 4 wrestlers. 3 of them are main eventsuperstars: Hogan, Nash, and Goldberg.The other should have been either DiamondDallas Page or Sting.The game plot shown in the intro,is highly about Sting transformingwith the development of the nWo. However,Sting is far from the strongest character inthe game. Neither is Goldberg (the undefeatedchampion at the time) the strongest.Instead, Nash is. And trust me, I have playedhundreds of matches and seen who givesthe most difficulty, as well as who cheatsthe mostActually, the only advantage that Sting hasin this game is that he comes to the ringwith a baseball bat. And thus he canstart the match with a weapon.There's a lot of characters, but many are notknown stars from the US, so they will leavemost people wondering. They've beingincluded is not a bad thing, but that therewere so many more known stars from theUS that weren't included is bad.For instance, there's no Rick Flair or anyHorsemen. The main nWo had legions ofpeople, but only 9 were included.The music was ok, but lacking in that it'sonly 2 themes...and oh they are just genericcompositions for whoever. When 4 wrestlerscome out it repeats the same 2 songs forthem. But you can turn off the music forthe matches or skip the entrances.No women were included in this game,except for Kimberly as DDP's managerand Elizabeth as Macho Man's.There seems to be hidden characters,as I bought a copy that had Wrath, whowasn't in my other cartridge. This is badcause they should have just put him inthe game, or made it accessible withouthaving to cheat and use a game shark.Wrath was highly undeveloped anyway.(His wadrobe is Stings, lol.)You can set a battle royal (royal rubble)and have a team battle, but you can'tpick your teams, only the 1st 4 wrestlers.I don't know why they even put thebattle royal as an option, cause it's nota real battle royal, it's 4 men at a time.(Obviously these games can't handlethat many people in the ring fightingat once.) It does makes for a decent 4way match.3 stars may seem low, but I wouldn't rateany wrestling game as 5 stars, and onlyWrestlemania 2000 (the following up tothis) is better.

The only thing I hated about the item was that it didn't come with the box art and instruction booklet but other than that I really don't have any problems

Game did not work. You can see from the pic, it looks as if the game’s hardware has been removed. Pending refund or working replacement, I will update my review.Also, product is advertised as if it comes with a game box and everything when it really only came with a non-working cartridge.
