Updated Dec 2020....now 8 years old and still in great shape. Everything I mentioned in my original review still holds true. The mat is very durable and comfortable.Review from 2015....Three years old and still holding strong. The mat is a perfect balance of durable and spongy. I don’t like those thinner dense mats even though they lie flat on the floor once unrolled. The matymats requires a couple seconds of flattening the ends once unrolled and can be a bit slippery if you have just put in lotion or are sweating a bunch. Otherwise it is easy to clean and works great with a canvas strap.I have had some other spongier mats that are too soft and affect your grip of the mat. This is not one of those. I recommend it to anyone.

This mat is relatively non slip, compared to typical mats. If you sweat heavily, you may slip a little. Since using this mat, I have done yoga, pilates, and general aerobic exercises. With the non slip feature, planks, push ups, and other moves with similar positions have been much easier. I'm actually able to work out the targeted muscle groups instead of trying not to slip all over. I've had this for just over a week, and I would recommend it. There is no sign of wear from being used every day.

I bought this mat for my husband. He wanted something long enough to accommodate his tall build but from the moment that he laid the mat down, and he began downward dog, he could feel the mat stretching beneath him. It does have a gorgeous color and the texture on top is very eye-appealing- but it is definitely NOT anti-slip. The chushyness of the mat is perfect, so if you are a person of lighter weight that likes a softer mat- this might be perfect for you.

This mat seems to be nice, was what I was looking for and doesn't slip. BUT I have to say the large amount of grammatical and spelling errors on the packaging label (on the mat) do not instill confidence in my purchase. I'm keeping it because I need it now and I imagine that it's the same materials all others are made from! Probably shouldn't have read the packaging... "it is a wish decision to by an eco yoga mat", "Pilate", "two mathods for reference" etc... I also hope they mean eco friendly since I believe eco safe refers to waste management!

I like how it weighs lightly and could be packed easily with the string provided inside the package, it's just very convenient to carry with if you need it for like yoga class or something. It's also very stable because some mats tend to move when you're doing exercise on, but this one has the rough side that catches the floor really well. Generally very good product, seems to have good durability, and the size works very well for me, personally I'm 6'1 ft tall with wide shoulder, just trying to give some references.

I really enjoyed this yoga mat for about 6 weeks until it deformed into a curved shape. I am disappointed as it worked really well up until this point and wish it stayed the normal shape.UPDATE: Joe from customer support worked with me to figure out my issue of the deformed mat and issued me a new one to replace the old. I just received the new one in the mail and am looking forward to using it again. I will update if this problem occurs again but I think there was just something wrong with the old one. Thanks so much to Joe for his assistance with this mat. Can't wait to be back with a nicely cushioned mat in class rather than the old ones they supply at my studio.

I liked the look of this mat and it felt like it would be a great, comfortable mat for my yoga practice. Unfortunately, the mat literally melted and warped after being in my car for a couple of hours. I only had it for 1 day. My cheap mat from Target holds up better than this. Also, there is a pretty strong chemical smell that is distracting during yoga practice. I ended up returning it. If it can't hold up to the heat in my car, it won't hold up in a hot yoga class. I opted for the Manduka professional mat instead, much sturdier and worth the money I paid. If you are looking for a mat that you are only going to use for home workouts, this may be okay for you. But if you are a regular yoga practitioner, invest in something a little higher quality. On the positive side, I did get a full refund and the return process was seamless.

I really like this yoga mat. First, i like the color. then it is soft enough for you to do some exercise and would not hurt you. you can just put it on the floor, which is really convenient. finally, the price is reasonable, it is worth this price. So i really recommend you to buy it.

I purchased this mat for my hot yoga practices, and I have to say that I'm very pleased with my purchase. The mat is high quality, it's just the right thickness for me, and I never feel as though I'm slipping even during the more intense classes. I also use a hot yoga towel to help with perspiration, but I still felt like I was slipping with my old mat. Not so with this one. I highly recommend it. As an added bonus, it arrived a week sooner than the estimated shipping window which I really appreciated.

Will be returning this product. It feels like a cheap rubber and it has a coating that sticks to my hands.. Every single time I touch it i get a sticky residue left on my hands. It's incredibly annoying. So I tried washing it like it said with soap and water. It still does the residue thing. The design & colour are lovely though. Material 0/5.

I like the little bit of extra cushion and it has great grip and style. The carrying strap is a convenient bonus. Good quality, worth the money and glad I bought it. I'm thinking about getting one in another colour too!

It was missing the cord and it is rather thin I really feel the ground.

Right out of the box I was a little worried. The ends where mashed up and it was rolled so tight that one end didn't lie flat. After a few days it seemed to sort itself out. One edge was a little damaged, but not a big deal. The big deal though was in how grippy it was. Maybe those who claim it does not grip well are using it wet, as I have not tried it. I have 3 other mats and when I do a full bridge ( I am very stiff ) my hands always slide out, but not with this mat. The one drawback is that it ends up stretching the mat slightly. I did find if I put the mat on foam tiles, like for kids play areas, it slides out on the foam tiles, it works really well on the hardwood. My other mats don't hold my hands and feet so well but don't slide so much on the mats. This is a 1/4 inch mat, so it does not offer much knee protection on a harder floor, but this is not a comment on the quality of the mat but on it's specs. I chose the gray color which is beautiful, but due to the color and the grippiness it does tend to act like a magnet for dirt. All in all, if you want a very grippy mat to put on a hard surface and are ok with 1/4 inches then this is an excellent choice. Oh, and the silly little carrying strap, is really brilliant. At first I was like what the heck is this silly little cord. Well it's a super low profile carrying strap. I love it, easy to use and works great.
