Great medium hold, stays pliable, good price!
Wow! I've found a good water-based pomade finally. I've reviewed a few other pomades and have personally used Sauvecito Firme, Sauvecito Premium Blend (matte and regular), Layrite original, Imperial (matte and regular), Rocky Mountain pomade, and a few others. I'm not a pomade expert, but I know what works for me. Like many hair products, what works for me might not for you. A background: Auburn, fair hair. Cut into a side-part/undercut. Fairly basic.Pros:- Spreads easily when warmed in the hand. Goes on easily, slides through damp hair and gets picked up well- Washes out easily as it should (water-based)- Hits a great medium hold.- Can work my fingers through it throughout the day (just pliable enough. Not as good as an oil-based, but definitely satisfactory!)- Very reasonable price per ounce.- Good looking can, if that matters to you.Cons:- Scent isn't great. It's certainly not at all horrible. It's just very mild and unnoticeable after applied. However, I do tend to like pomades that add a little bit of a scent. Minor con though. I'd rather have a product that works than smells great.- Although pliable, I can't say it's the best at re-wetting throughout the day. It does adequately, but I feel like it breaks it down and you're left with having to reapply.- Like many water-based, it requires a bit more product to do the same as an oil-based. You may need to check on it more throughout the day.Overall, I'm very happy. I had been looking for a pliable, medium hold, water-based pomade that didn't break the bank. I feel that this does it. I'll be sticking with Tip-Top for awhile! I hope they come out with some more products and varieties.

NUMBER ONE water based Pomade for finger waves/ Italian Mop
I am Italian and have been "blessed" with natural finger waves my whole life. I have probably run through 20 different variations of product to keep my mop in check and looking fresh. I apply this to my damp hair, finger comb it in and let it go. If I work longer than 10 hours I keep an extra one in my desk for a re-apply because it does lose it's grip over the day. There's no tacky residue or staining and it smells pretty neutral to light manly if that's even a thing. Consistent in quality and manufacturing. I have it on auto pilot!

My Go-To
I've used Tip Top for about 2 years.Prior to that I used Suavecito Original for about 4. Suavecito uses heavier concentrations of alcohol (and it has gotten worse as the years have gone), it gives guys that "hair gel" sort of lock.Tip Top does not do this, it dries a little slower. It allows me to get nit picky with my hair when I comb it, without "flyaways" and "nests" that many others give me when combing. It holds up under heat and humidity also, which Suavecito never does well for me. Tip Top stays locked in place until you soak it in water. So with all of these positive traits in mind, I primarily use Tip Top now.The only thing I would change is a scent with more of a cologne smell. It smells plain, like an ointment or vaseline to me.

Can I just put the TIP in ?
Not bad, I've used a lot of water based pomades. Tip Top is pretty damn good. The thing i really like about this pomade is that it's fragrance is not over the top like a lot of these pomades out there. The scent is gone after about 45 minutes. I wear cologne or aftershave and don't need my hair to smell like something different. The hold is very firm, somewhere close to layrite strong hold. It hardens up a little more than i would like it too, almost gel like by the end of the day leaving my hair a little bit crunchy after a few hours. One major selling point for me is how well this pomade rinses out, and i say rinses not washes out because you don't even need to use shampoo to completely remove this stuff from your hair. Overall a very nice pomade that is on point because of its low fragrance, hold and price.

Possibly the perfect water based pomade.
All I use is water based pomades. This one has a nice smell, while not being over-powering. There is a nice bit of shine, without looking greasy. Like most water based pomades, it does stiffen up once it dries, but you can still comb through it, re-wet your hair and its like fresh out of the shower again. It washes out easy, just like it should. It is my new favorite water based pomade.

Great compliment to an oil-based product
My favorite water based pomade. I use it about every 3rd day to break up the build-up I get from my my oil based pomade. All that waxy oily build-up washes away clean during after one use of Tip Top. This stuff holds hair well too. Hair feels straw like if used too many days in a row, which is why I go back to my oil based product after one use of Tip Top.

Reliable pomade that keeps a very firm hold throughout the whole day. It has a very sweet, creamy/honey smell to it that just smells totally natural (and tasty, though I don't know if I'd recommend eating it).

Great product poor shipping
The product is great. Strong hold and water based. Doesn’t leave residue in your hair. Easy to wash out. My only issue was with shipping. With the summer heat and the way it was packaged the product melted and was partially stuck to the top and sides of the container causing some waste when opening. I would recommend shipping in a box with “this side up” instructions.

Took too long to arrive
Love this pomade but it took way too long to arrive (maybe 3 weeks or more). Will start to look for a different brand.
