One worked the other didn't . 50/50
After receiving my first product, (I needed two), but I thought I'll test one, if it's OK I'll buy another. So after buying my first one and setting it up , I thought "great, it works nicely". It was too tricky to set up although I think they could be more generous with the pipe length. I ran out quickly. So I was happy and my review would have been totally positive.Anyway I ordered a second one. They are actually to water my plants when I'm not here , so I didn't really put it to full use until recently when I went away. On my return the floors were flooded, the batteries on the gadget were beeping. What had happened is, yes it turned itself on, but couldn't turn itself off. It kept watering the plants until the water butt was empty and the batteries ran out hence the beeping. I reset the whole system and thought it was fixed, but when I went away next the same thing happened. The water caused no damage, but I am £6 into batteries already. The other one which works fine, and is older, is still running on the same batteries.I discovered the fault after my return date was over, I have tried and given up trying to follow a repair service by Amazon. I have read the instructions, I teach computing and so am computer literate, but can I find the way into this option? NO, given up and just thought I'd write a review. I guess my summary would be it's a good little irrigation unit if it has no fault. So make sure you test it after purchase within the return date. 50/50 is not a great average, would I buy another myself. Maybe ? But I would follow my advise and test it immediately.

A few niggles that need sorting out ...
I bought this product to water my plants if I am away. This is what I found.I tried using rechargeable batteries but the battery buzzer would interrupt the first or second test watering. I replaced them with AA High Power Duracell and that problem seems to be fixed. The green pipe is narrow and not very flexible and fiddly. Nor can you see the water flowing towards your plants. So I bought 6mm/4mm food grade see-through tubing and pushed the green pipe into it (only a few inches from the unit (10cm of green 4mm pipe to 1m of 6mm/4mm (ext/int) of wider pipe). The food grade pipes are easier to run and manipulate to each pot and the water flows very well. A 4mm T connector at end allows for 2 outlets per pot with 50% water each.I tested four 1m pipes into four glasses and they filled to the top equally. After 90 seconds more than 1 litre was in the glasses, so a flow rate of 11ml per second or 3ml per pipe. Lower than expected but much of the first test press is needed to get the water from the resevoir to end of pipes. The glasses filled quicker on second and third, 30 second, press. One pot is smaller so I bought an inline tap / valve to slightly restrict flow to this pot. I understand that the pump at bottom of resevoir needs to be below soil level / top of pot, to prevent syphoning when not running it seems. That may be the case so beware.I do have concerns over battery life and reliability. If it stops for last week of holiday then your plants are going to suffer or may be dead (cactii probaby excluded!). I would prefer to have an app where I can water pots, individually, from holiday depending on soil moisture measurement probes. One would also get a better idea if everything is still working. (Water and then check probes with app later). There are systems with apps about but early days and I also have this product. Before I go on hols I will try to run for a week or so to get the watering cycles right for each pot and plant's needs. Free up some time on holiday too! My biggest concern is reliablity and any old battery will not do. Probably give a key to a neighbour just in case.If you have a web cam app you can probably hear if the alarm is buzzing from holiday. In which case it may be time to book earlier flights homebound, depending. Only prior usage would likely indicate probability of failure while on holiday. Unfortunately that is a pain to do and real life may still prove different even problematic.

One worked, one didn't
I am a plant scientists and I ordered two of these pumps to water my experiments during the lockdown when lab access was restricted. I carefully measured the lengths of the tubing and had programmed them to dispense the same volume of water into my plant trays. I think it's important to say I was having them dispense about half a liter and I'm not sure how this pump would do with battery/reliability for pumping lots of water. Initially this system worked well. I proactively changed batteries once per week to avoid the problem many people have mentioned here with battery life (I recommend a set of rechargeable ones to swap out with). But now one of the pumps dispenses extra water, even though its not programmed to. I think it does so randomly because it's very hard for me to catch the pump doing it. It's flooded my plants several times. I wish I knew if it was something I did with the piping or programming so that I could fix it but there's nothing about it in the manual. The other one still works fine, so up to you if it's worth the risk.

It does work.
Used this for my greenhouse tomatoes, cucumbers etc whilst away for two weeks. Bought a large plastic storage box from the local DIY store and mounted the unit onto it with the pump through a hole I cut in the lid. Filled the box with a water/feed mix. Ran a hose to each pot secured the end to the bamboo plant supports. Once set up I left it. Came back and found my plants all OK with a good crop waiting to be picked.Note: the ends of the hoses need to be above the pump as if not they will syphon through the pump and drain your tank. Also it takes a bit of adjusting to get the right frequency and run time so you don't flood your plants. For the money its excellent and would definitely recommend for greenhouse use.

Stuck in low battery mode
I have two of these, one bought in 2020 and because I was so pleased with it I bought another one last year. I’ve had no problems with either of them until this year. I came to install them for this year’s tomatoes and both are stuck in low battery mode. I’ve changed the batteries but that hasn’t made any difference. When I press Test the empty battery symbol flashes and it beeps. I haven’t been able to find a solution, switching them on and off doesn’t make any difference.
