Stens Safety Switch 430-403 Replacement for Black & Decker Various Electric Corded Lawn mowers 681064-01

This item is identical to the original in my Black and Decker electric 19 in. mower model MM875, type 1 . It fit better than the one I removed. Replacement was pretty easy, just requiring a regular screwdriver with the mower’s handle in the folded position The mower ran just fine when the new switch was installed. 5 stars for sure!! Delivery was very rapid too

Worked fine as a replacement in my mom’s old corded electric black&decker(?) mower that would no longer turn on. Got this in lieu of replacing the whole safety/on-switch handle, and was not sure the assembly was in good enough shape for it to work, even after replacing this switch. However it DID work well, at least for the past few weeks. — Recommended.

Used to replace the switch on a Black and Decker MM875 lawn mower. The switch needed to be replaced because the mower was operating intermittently. On the old switch, the electrical contacts were fine. However the black push button was worn down to the point where the cam on the actuation lever could not push it in all the way. I actually had to replace the orange lever because it was also worn. This should give this early 2000's mower another decade of life.

This switch was the perfect fit for my Black & Decker LM175 electric mower. It fixed my problem with fluctuating speeds and partially not working. Now it works like it did when it was new!

I bought this for my Black & Decker corded electric lawn mower (LawnHog model MM875). I originally though the issue was the orange lever (handle) as when I pulled it, I had to place it just right to get the lawn mower to turn on. When mowing the lawn if the lever slightly moved the lawn mower would stop. While holding it down, I would have to reposition the lever just right to get it started again. This would happen 10 - 20 times very time I mowed my yard. I finally decided to take the handle apart. The lever on the inside looked fine. The switch also looked fine but after testing it (with the handle apart and the switch still in place, I pushed the switch button) I determine it was the switch. I purchased this switch and ......YEA.....now my lawn mower is back to normal. It wasn't hard to take the handle apart (about 5 screws) and it wasn't hard to replace the switch. No tools were needed to remove/replace the switch.

Like other reviewers mentioned, I had to hold the on/off lever in just the right position (kind of twisted downward) to get my mower to start, and to keep it running. I bought this switch, installed it and my mower started right up and runs with the lever in its' proper position. The only tool I needed was a Phillips screwdriver to take the lever housing apart, but I think my mower is rather old. Switching the four wires, one by one, over to the new switch was a lot easier than getting that housing back together lol. BTW, the old switch has "01N" at the end of the part number and the other side is marked "INDAK PATENTED", as is the case with this new one.

Installed a long time ago and still working well

Ordered yesterday, received and installed today. Exact replacement, same part number by the same manufacturer, and I see no evidence of it being a knock off. Works well. The old switch started to fail last year, and noticed it was still flaky when mowing the lawn yesterday. I guess it's to be expected after 14 years of use. For 20 bucks, the lawnmower has a new lease on life. Saved several hundred dollars with this simple fix. Thanks Amazon for carrying such obscure and obsolete parts.

Very happy with the Sten Safety switch. I was able to replace it in my lawn mower quite easily. This saved me from having to buy a new lawn mower and keep the old one that was purchased by my late husband. Worked immediately and made me very happy. Thank you.
