The threads are great!
Plenty of colored threads to choose from, and all are sturdy. The eye of the needles can be fragile if the hole you create in the leather isnโt wide enough for it, so itโs important NOT TO FORCE IT if itโs difficult to pass. Make the hole in the leather wider, then try again. If you have to use your entire arm strength and body to get the needle to pass, you risk damage to the needle. The needles are not weak themselves, they are good for a first time set. There are plenty of needles, tools in a variety of points- and my favorite so far are the curved needles. For repairing crappy work boots with this set, Iโve been able to save a lot of money. I would have had to drop $200 1 year ago, and now Iโm still going strong thanks to this kit.

Easy Enough
This is a fairly comprehensive set for beginners. It didnโt come with what I needed, which would have been a much finer black thread for a boot repair. However it does have the needle I needed. The two things I do want to mention are that the needle was easy to thread and that it was sharp enough that it didnโt make my arthritic hands hurt to work with it. Not sorry I bought it. Just wish it had come with more thread.

Great starter or single job kit
Great set for a small job or trying a new hobby. Is it professional quality ,no, but it works for a mild hobby. Iโm glad I got it. Came with enough waxed thread for multiple projects.

Great starter kit!
An excellent starter kit! I made moccasins for the first time & as it was a one-off project, I didnโt want to invest in more expensive tools. This had everything I needed and worked really well! Iโm sure there are better products, but this did the job just fine for me. The coated thread never got stuck, the hole-making tool went right through my 2-3mm leather with one or two taps from my little hammer, the needles never bent & if I missed a hole, the awl worked perfectly to poke individual holes.

Impressive affordable practical kit
An impressive "kit" for such an affordable price. Great selection of colored waxed thread and needle sizes. Yeah nice kit.
