A History of the Japanese Language Paperback – 14 Dec. 2011

This book was on my daughter's pre-university reading list. I ma not intending to buy everything on the list but reading a sample of this book made me choose this as one I would buy. She is finding it useful and interesting

I gave a rating, that is all that is needed, but I have to write sufficient words to finish this.

An incredible, lucid book. Absolutely essential for anyone interested in Japanese linguistics, the history of the Japanese language, or Japanese Studies in general.

Its pages on phonology are splendid.
