I use it all the time for a variety of activities, and it works great.The strap that goes under you chin will loose its elasticity and you will have to cut it off, but there is an adjustment around the rim that will help you to tighten the hat up so on windy days it will be more likely to stay on.

This is a great travel hat since it rolls up. It's cute, classy and effective for sun screening. Lightweight, so my head doesn't roast! The fit is perfect and the wider brim allows me to read in strong sunlight. Good buy!

This hat is really cute. I like that it's adjustable. I was able to get it to fit my small head, which is a common issue for me. Unfortunately due to my small frame, the hat just overwhelms me so much and doesn't look great. Wish I could love it because it seems great!

The only downside to this is that it is so well packaged that there will be a crease in your brim - which can easily be solved by steaming it flat with an iron (that's actually on the tag in the bowl of the hat. Because you can't wash it (it's 90% paper), I'd suggest wearing a bandana beneath it to wick up any sweat that would otherwise ruin a great hat. At the price point, however, you can easily just get another.

Came messed up, ribbon isn't attached to the hat and the glue is all over the place. Easy to fix but disappointing, should've believed the other reviews of the same. Folded all over the place and had a bunch of creases so I had to leave the brim under books for awhile to flatten out.

I ordered the one with the 4.5 inch brim and planned to use it to create a Halloween hat. It arrived sharply creased and misshapen. The brim was really too small for my project, anyway, so I returned it (hassle-free, at Whole Foods) and then bought the one with the wider brim. It is perfect! It had less creases to start with, plus I think the heavier brim makes it less likely to crease. Nice hat!

I've read the reviews regarding the bow ripping off easily. While disappointing, that would not have phased me much. I literally use it just for watching my dog go out to go to the bathroom to ensure that a hawk or something doesn't kill him for a nice snack. I've worn it twice, for about 2 minutes each time: not being rough or doing things in it other than protecting my scalp from the sun while I watch my dog. The top is already ripped, which is among the most important parts of the hat as it is what keeps the sun off of my scalp. I'm really disappointed with how poorly this hat was made and that I had so little use out of it before it essentially became useless.

We have seven ponds in our back yard and I love to sit by them and read. I pick a different spot every day and the hat protects wherever I select to sit. The hat protects my eyes and sun on my face and neck very nicely. It's comfortable, fits well, is nice looking, and is made of good material. I've been wearing it every day.
