No more leaks...
Ultimately bought 3 of these. They seem sturdier than the Rain Birds that they replaced and they were less expensive. This yard project took forever but finally done and these valves are working well.

Easy Install, Great Performance, and Even Better Price
I recently purchased the Hunter 3/4โ PGV-ASV Anti-Siphon Valve, and Iโm extremely pleased with it. Installation was a breeze โ very straightforward with no surprises. Everything worked exactly as expected right out of the box. The build quality feels solid, and it functions perfectly in my irrigation setup. What really stood out to me was the price. Itโs a fantastic value and significantly more affordable than what youโd pay at the big box stores. For the quality youโre getting, itโs hard to beat. Overall, I highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a reliable anti-siphon valve without overpaying. Great performance, easy to install, and budget-friendly โ canโt ask for much more!

Purchased 4, Installed 2 and the last one was leaking.
I don't know if this is a quality control issue, but the 2nd one I installed was leaking pretty badly. I didn't want to cut it off the pipes after having glued it on, so I replaced the top from another one ... but it was still leaking. At this point I was worried that the bottom of the main valve itself was damaged, So I took it apart again and made sure that everything was seated properly before putting it together again. The one thing I did which I'm not sure made a difference is that I made sure that the flow control valve was completely open before I put it together again. I think that the tab from the control valve (when it's in a close position) prevents the unit from seating itself properly when put together. I'm not sure, but it worked. I sure hope that I don't have to go through this again with the remaining two that I have to replace.

Works great so far.
I have had Hunter products before and they are good quality. This Anti-Siphon Valve works well, but you need to turn the flow contol valve on, it is located in the center and is set to the off position. Turn it counterclockwise with a large screwdriver to open. The instructions don't mention doing this.

Pro Valves from a Rookie Company..........I would not buy. See why.
The Hunter valves may be "pro grade" but Amazon is not. I purchased 4 of these and as with anything else, there might be one that fails from time to time. So one of the valves kept leaking from the body of the back flow area. It was not a connection point so I know it wasn't where I connected it. And anyway, I used Monster tape around all my connections. To make things worse, I moved this valve down the line to another spot just to see if there was something else wrong. It's a real pain to have to move these around once you have them in place. The Hunter valve would not stop leaking with a steady drip from the top of the body at the backflow area. The other three Hunter valves did not leak. Not wanting to have to return the valve to find out it was another problem, I went to Lowe's and bought a Rain Bird valve and installed it in place of the leaking Hunter valve. None of the 4 zone valves leaked or dripped water at all after taking that one bad Hunter valve out of the mix. So, I went through the trouble of packing up the bad Hunter valve and sending it back to Amazon. I was not asking for my money back (as I should have) but I asked for a replacement valve so I could have all the same valves in my system. When I received the replacement valve, they sent a USED valve. I could tell because the inner valve package was damaged, the UPC tag was off, there were no instructions inside the package (that would be with a new valve and the only way they will refund you is if you return "Everything" in their package. Look it up on their return policy) and the valve was haphazardly jammed into the box. After looking at the seller......It is Amazon! Next time I buy something off the Amazon site, I'll be sure not to buy from Amazon but from a reputable seller. And if I happen to buy from Amazon, I will ask for my money back and not a replacement.

I've used for yrs. Good valve
These are replacements for me. I use these Hunter valves all over the yard. The bottom body will last forever. The top head and solonoid needs to be replaced every five or so years, the diaphragm maybe every 2 years. In a replacement situation, I swap out the head and trash the body. I keep a couple of bodies around in case one gets destroyed by lawnmower. A couple things to note on these valves. The top has 8 stainless steel screws. Hunter also make a 4 screw model, which is less work but not as durable. These vales are threaded on the bottom. You need NTP adaptors to fit your pipe. Hunter also makes a slip fit, which I prefer. Overall excellent valve and Amazon is cheaper than my irrigation supply house.
