Great wearable icepack
Love this icepack! It is wearable making it so convenient. The Velcro is strong. It freezes quickly and works great!

Exactly what I wanted
Bought this before. Can be used as hot/cold. Put in freezer. Stays cold for 25-30 minutes. Hot in microwave 1 1/2 minutes. Last about 20 minutes. Velcro strap is great and it stretches!! Can wear walking around. I’ve used it driving my car and it’s a Godsend . Purchased another for a family member. Works really well. I prefer the cold vs hot and love it. I’m an RN and trust me it’s worth the purchase and cost is reasonable for the relief you get. Thank you!!Ellen Hoey, RN

It is a quick remedy for my pain relief.
I heat it in the microwave and use on my ankles. I have to make sure I don’t over heat it .

The belt version is great for low back pain
I wasn't sure if I'd like the "back wrap" version with the belt. - I do! It works well for lower back pain. Better than positioning separate packs!Although the gel bead products don't stay super cold for more than about 15 or 20 minutes, I've found it's long enough for me.One star off because the buckle is a little annoying, but that's a minor issue. Overall it's a great product! If you're in doubt about getting the belt version for lower back pain, go for it.Update about a year later: I still like this and use it, but it's started to leak. The clear outer plastic is very stiff when it's frozen and not flexible (it's flexible once it's out of the freezer for a few minutes) so if you're not careful and you're moving it around the freezer while it's frozen (to reach other things!) that clear outer plastic can tear, particularly at the folded areas. Then the little beads inside will leak. Handle carefully when frozen and be careful not to tear the clear outer plastic when it's frozen stiff. Once it thaws out for a few minutes and the outer plastic is softer again, it's fine.

Much better than an Ice-Bucket circulation Pump.
My wife had a total knee replacement and the insurance provided an ice-bucket/pump therapy device. The system required ice cubes at a rate greater than my refrigerator could provide. A better alternative was the purchase of four TheraPearl "Back Wraps". Then two wraps could be in the freezer, while the other two were being used. The result was near continuous supply of ice cold wraps.

... one of these for years (exact same product) - like 5, for muscular headaches
I have been using one of these for years (exact same product) - like 5, for muscular headaches. The large size fits nicely across the base of my neck and upper back that parallels the shoulders. It was the past 6 months or so, where the seams started to come apart with the beads seeping out. I don't consider this that bad since I keep this in the freezer all the time for which it gets tossed about oh so not so lovingly by the rest of the family. I've had the gel packs before and they give out in the seam just like these do after a period of time and don't cover as big of an area.

Comfortably cold
Only used so far for Ice retention, but must say it was nice to not have to hold it to my body. The ease of use was amazing with the strap you can wrap around you.Stays cold for an ample amount of time and really comfortable as well.

Comparison of 3 cold packs for lower back
I purchased 3 cold packs for lower back and they all work OK, they all got cold enough, they all stayed cold for 20 minutes (what my doctor recommends). However, overall the best one for me was Lower Back Gel Beads Hot & Cold Therapy Wrap Compress Pack + Fabric Cover - Reusable gel beads provides both ice / heat pain relief and rehab treatments. Great for sports injuries, chronic pain + more. It fits well, even for a 40"+ waist. The belt is a simple elastic with velcro that is very easy to use. The belt is a bit long but you can cut it to get rid of some of the extra bulk if you like. I was a little concerned with the belt attaching directly to the gel bead pack, but after a few months it's holding up fine. I like the cloth cover, it makes it comfortable even directly on skin. The second product is ACE Compress Back Wrap, Cold/Hot. This a good product as well, and if my waist was just a couple inches smaller (38" or less) I would probably give it 5 stars. I really like the belt material, and the velcro is easy to use except for the fact that it's a couple inches too small for me. If Ace would offer an extension for the belt (just a 6" length of the belt fabric with velcro on one end) it would be great without making it too bulky for people with a smaller waist. The pouch for the standard cold pack is bit of a nuisance, they should close one end and make the opening a bit smaller on the other end so the pack doesn't slip out so easily. The third product is TheraPearl Back Wrap, Reusable Hot Cold Therapy Pack. I really wanted to like this one, it's got the biggest cold pack of the three and seems like a simple, easy to use belt. However, it has one serious drawback: the buckle. This just a bad design. It is clumsy to put on and take off yourself. The buckle tends to twist while you are wearing it and can make it a real pain to remove. If the buckle side just had a longer piece of the belt material so I could ignore the buckle and velcro to the belt on that side, it would be a much better product.

I have had lower back issues for many years and have got relief from a variety of gel belts and packs , this one is the best yet it covers a good area providing better relief , only a minor issue the belt could be more central but I will be ordering a spare , i have only had it 24 hours and cant imagine life without it
