Kubaton Keychain Self Defense, Silver

I bought this for my girlfriend because she does retail, she works late, and she's not allowed to have weapons such as knives at work. I had bought her a knife because she works late and she takes public trans home, but when she told me her boss wouldn't let her bring her knife to work I decided to get this for her. Most people don't know what this is when they look at it, so she has not had any trouble bringing it to work with her.The item is a little larger than I had anticipated. The length is about 6 inches and the width from the primary spike to the prongs that go between your fingers is about 3 inches. It also has more weight to it than I anticipated. That's a good and bad thing. Good because it will help stun an attacker if hit with this thing, but bad if you have it attached to your keys and try to leave it hanging from your ignition while driving. Actually, I'd recommend you do not attach this to your car keys and if you do attach it to the car keys, then get one of those key chains that you can quickly detach from this because you will damage your ignition if you try to leave this hanging from your ignition while driving.Obviously, this thing is not likely to fully incapacitate an attacker, but if used properly it will absolutely stun an attacker so that you can run away. If you would like a little piece of mind for a significant other I would recommend this little defensive tool. For those of you who are not sure how to deploy the Kubaton, I would recommend a strike either with the prongs or the large spike to the side of the neck around the jugular area, a strike to the eyes, a strike to the temple, or a strike to the windpipe (the soft fleshy part located at the bottom center where the neck meets the upper part of the chest), or all of the above.I only gave this item four stars, though, because when I received it there was a small portion of rust on the flat end of the large spike. Nothing a little gun cleaning oil and a scrub brush won't take care of, but I shouldn't have to do that to a new item.

Obnoxious that the pegs don't tighten. When they're glued and steady, though, nice for self defense.

This is a real imposing weapon that fits in the palm of your hand. It has a definite heft and is solidly made. When I work late, I carry it with assurance. BTW, I do not put it on my Keychain, I feel that it's too heavy.

product advertised as solid steel buy they ship cheap aluminum. One of the spikes fell out the 1st day and was lost and the other spike was loose. what a piece of junk

This little gem is collapsible and fits great on a key chain for a woman. For a man it fits perfectly in an coat pocket etc.

This product was used for additional self-defense. One of the spikes was loose and fell out of the key chain. Luckily, I never had to use this for self-defense. The other parts are still together, but I wouldn't recommend getting this product at all.

Spikes unscrew and get lost easily..
