I now own 4 of these clocks; I recently bought 3 more after using one for more than 3 years without any problems. They are great -- keeps accurate time, large red easy to read digits, and very easy user friendly to set the time (DST and ST). I can read the time from across a large room even in bright daylight (senior citizen with poor vision). Backup battery works good when power goes out. This clock is exactly what I was looking for and price is right!

Nice alarm clock nothing fancy but it has a battery back up and easy to use when setting alarm and time.

Wanted a basic simple no frills digital clock and this fit the bill. I do not use the alarm feature though as I use my cellphone for that. A year later after buying this its still working great with no issues. Displays the time nice and big and lets you also adjust the brightness.

Great for the bedroom . The red numbers are great as there is no bright light at night.

Yesterday, I had a short-period power outage, which reminded me that I had not put a battery in yet since I purchased this alarm. In sum, I got angry about this "battery" situation. First, I couldn't tell the type of battery to use by just opening a cover, which bothered me because of having to research (I found it on Q & A, "Seller" said "one 9 volt battery is required."). Then, I had to Google to find out what a 9 volt battery was. I didn't have one, so it further took my time to go out and get the 9 volt battery. Upon putting in a battery, I tested out the "battery back-up function," of which the result "angered me." Why? When I unplugged it, the screen went blank! What I read from the description of "Battery Back-Up" function was that, when the power goes out, the screen would continue to display the "time," which was the only thing that I wanted from this "battery back-up" function. Per "Seller" on Q & A: "AC 120V ELECTRIC POWERED, WITH BATTERY BACK UP . . . Use one 9V battery for back up in case of a power outage. My old alarm clock died, tank goodness. It was very difficult to change the times and the alarm (if only I had known that prior to buying it). This clock was easy to set up, and I love its size and the size of the numerals. I can "peep" out with one eye to easily see what time it is before getting out of bed. I can also see the time from everywhere in the bedroom (it swivels). All in all a great buy, - I've had it for only a month, but hope to have it for much longer. Sharp has great products.
