Safe+Mate x Case-Mate - Cloth Face Mask - Washable & Reusable

I really enjoy these masks. Don't understand the negative reviews they get. I am a normal size adult male that wears a 7 3/8 fitted hat and the adult L/XL fits great. With the filter in I cannot blow at a candle. The filter could be bigger but it covers both my mouth and nostrils. If I wear it with the logo on the left side of my face, the filter will not reach my nose. When worn with the logo on the right side of my face, the filter reaches just the tip of my nose but at that point, my nostrils and mouth are covered. Dont know why I would need more coverage than that. Even with the filter in I don't find it difficult to breathe and I have asthma. The elastic is great for keeping it in place when working out and I can just leave it hanging around my neck when I dont need it on my face. Overall I am very satisfied with this mask.

I’ve tried countless masks all having one issue or another, but this mask has everything I was looking for, I’m currently making my third purchase of more of these masks to give to my coworkers. I am a bearded man and the large size fits perfectly over my beard. The soft cotton keeps the mask comfortable on the face. The filter pocket fits replacement filters perfectly. As of October 4th I’ve purchased 6 masks total and every single one has still held up through several wash cycles. It can be a little tight around the ears after a wash, but still not nearly as bad as some other masks that would actually start to give me rashes behind the ears. The large size does seem to be too big for my girlfriend, would also likely be too big for a man of my size without a beard.

I liked the coverage area of the mask. It fits nicely under the chin and across the nose. It is comfortable and doesn’t slip even though there is no wire across the bridge of the nose. I also like the thickness. It’s not hard to breathe through even with a filter inserted in the pouch. The filter tends to move around a bit, though. The thing I didn’t like, which others might, are the ear loops. They pull the ears out and make the mask sit in an odd position on your face. Since there is the elastic band that fits comfortably around your head, I simply use that and leave the loops off of my ears. The mask still stays in place and is much more comfortable. So, I don’t wear it with the ear loops, but with the band behind your head it doesn’t matter much. With the ear loops off of my ears it’s not the most tightly fitting mask, but can be worn over another mask to increase protection. I also like that it doesn’t fog up my glasses much due to the nose covering. I like the headband because I can put it down around my neck when I don’t need it, yet I have it handy quickly if someone enters a room with me. If there was a wire across the nose and the ear loops were designed to fit better, this would be a super mask. Without them, it’s still one of the best I’ve tried.

First off, I want to make it clear that these observations are fresh out of the box, so to speak. I did not wash them before trying them out. That being said, here are my observations: 1) Getting them adjusted just right can be a bit fiddly. Watch the video, and notice the part where the wearer pulls up on the top of the ear loops. That's the key to getting a comfortable (or semi-comfortable) fit. You may have to do this more than once to get them adjusted for maximum comfort. 2) The lack of a nose band prevents a decently snug seal unless your face is perfectly shaped to whatever their design criteria was. I had definite gaps on both sides of the bridge of my nose, which caused a LOT of fogging up into my glasses. That much fogging indicates that there is a major air flow issue in that area, whether you wear glasses or not. That being said, they are no worse in this respect than the "home made" style mask, or any other mask that doe not have an adjustable nose bridge device. Will the fit in that area improve with washing? Only time will tell. 3) Definitely a snug fit. For me, that's a double edged blade, since I have a small face, but large head. (I know, weird, right?) For kids or more petite individuals this may not be an issue. My only concern is that I have had other brands/styles of similarly tight straps that pulled apart from the masks after a few uses. Again, washing may or may not improve this. 4) I've already purchased a substantial stock of the PM 2.5 filtering inserts which I use in other mask styles, and since it looks like they will fit OK, getting replacement filters won't be an issue, so long as those remain available. 5) The fabric, even unwashed, is comfortable on the face, and I can see how some folks could indeed prefer these for long term or daily use. Due to the fogging issue, for me, and I suspect for others who wear glasses, they are more suited for short duration use. 6) Since I switch out my masks regularly, and keep them accessible in multiple vehicles/locations, these will do just fine to get added into the use/wash/reuse rotation, especially for short period use. 7) Now that the focus of wearing a mask has been clarified that they are to be worn primarily to prevent breathing out infectious particles towards others, vs. the original concept that many of us had, i.em that we would wear them to prevent breathing in infectious particles, the design of this mask certainly seems to lend itself to accomplishing that intent. 8) All in all, decent quality, and although not my favorite style, still quite usable. These are certainly a step above the "homebrew" designs that many of us first started out with. 9) If I had not already found a design that I find highly effective and comfortable, these would be near the top of my list of preferred masks, or at least, somewhere in the middle. 10) Since none of us really know just how long it will be that masks are going to continue to be a major front line defense for Covid-19 (or 20, or 21, or whatever!) trying out different styles and designs is certainly worthwhile, since you have no idea if you may need a fallback option if your preferred choice becomes unavailable. With that in mind, these are certainly worth giving them a try.

I liked these face masks a lot! They cover all the way from the bridge of the nose to the bottom of the chin. The removable and replaceable filter is a very nice feature though I wish the order included more of them. Only one per mask seems kind of chintzy. I liked how it fits over the back of the head and not the ears. Being able to pull down to around the neck is very convenient and seems safer, more sanitary, than having to keep putting it on and taking it off. This particular mask is for adults, too big for children. Price is reasonable.

My work requires no more gator masks but I don't like anything on my ears. I have a couple of wrap around masks that would work but thy are a bit small for my nose. I ordered these. The mask feels custom made. Yes the strap is a bit tight around the head but i got used to it. On the second day I wore the second mask of the 3 pack around my neck only not around my ears. That worked well too. I didn't understand the other reviews about seeing through the mask or blowing out a candle and.my filters are quite thick. After17hour of wearing my mask only the bridge of my nose was slightly red but that went away in minutes. Great product!!!

I bought 2 sets of these masks, so I do REALLY like them. The material is a very soft, brushed cotton - like a good quality t-shirt. It is very comfortable on the face. The mask has ear loops, but there is also an elastic strap running between the ear loops. This allows the mask to stay on without slipping, and if you want to take the mask off (e.g., while driving), you can just pull it down around your neck. So, you don't have to worry about where to put it or to forget to take it when you get out of your car. The masks have a pocket for a filter, and from my reading on other websites, the fabric combined with a good quality filter, is one of the more effective options for protecting against COVID-19. One really nice feature is the mask states which side is up, so it is easy to put the filter in correctly and to put on correctly. The one thing that keeps this mask from being perfect is that it does not have a wire on the nose, so you cannot bend it around the nose. This is somewhat mitigated by the fact that the elastic strap that goes around the back of you head pulls the mask pretty tight around the face, so it is almost as secure around the nose as a mask with a wire. And, the mask is soft enough that the tightness is not uncomfortable. I would still prefer if it had the nose wire, though. Overall, it is a great mask. Very comfortable to wear for prolonged periods of time. It's among the best I've found during these terrible times, and I do recommend it.

Apparently I have a large head. Still the design, fit and material are the most comfortable of the several masks I've worn, BUT: 1. Areas of only two-layer protection are probably inadequate. The weave is fairly coarse. 2. The replaceable filter might be adequate but does not offer much, if any, additional protection between the upper lip and the nose. 3, The elastic headband proved much too tight so was cut off. It should be a two-piece strap w/Velcro or the ear-straps should incorporate adjustable locks. 4. Advertised as "large/extra large" seems appropriate. Among the 12 masks purchased two seem to be large and ten to be extra large. The two large ones are too tight for me. 5. They have to be washed in hot water. Let them air-dry. They will shrink if dried in even medium heat (at least in our cloths dryer). If necessary I will probably reorder these masks.

Great value for money. The large face masks fit me perfectly and I love that they have the strap at the back so I can pull it up or down easily and don’t have to worry about losing it. Easier to breathe through than the disposal ones as well.
