The theory and practice of propaganda in a remarkable essay collection
A fascinating, if very varied, collection of essays on film and history, propaganda and history, states and propaganda in wartime, and much else besides (though the perspective remains strictly Anglo-Amefrican). Long forgotten episodes such as the BAttle for the FAlkland islands in 1914, or people, such as the British interwar film star George Arliss, sit alongside reflections on 'strategic communications', public diplomacy and the propaganda battles which accompanied the Iraq war of 2003. There are hands-on discussions from the military protagonists of 'psychological warfare' as well as a useful introductory overview of the state-of-the-art in the historical treatment of propaganda in the introductory essay by the editor, DAvid Welch. The book was born as a tribute to the late Philip M TAylor, of Leeds, a pioneering thinker and researcher in these fields.

Soddisfatto
Un buon testo in materia di propaganda studies. Una lettura spesso migliore delle chiacchiere scritte in italiano in materia. Consigliato per le biblioteche universitarie.
