Very helpful in understanding your electricity consumption.
I bought this a few months ago but didn’t get around to installing it right away. Once I finally started using it, I realized what a great product it is.It’s not something you need, but once you make the investment, it really helps you manage your energy usage more wisely. You’ll be surprised—some appliances you assume use a lot don’t, while others you hardly think about actually consume more than expected. It gives you a clearer picture of your consumption habits and helps you make smarter choices. Definitely worth it if you’re trying to be more energy-conscious.The wireless connection has been smooth with no issues at all. Live updates appear to be accurate and reliable.

Blew away my expectations
I honestly didn’t know what to expect, but whatever it was this thing has exceeded it. My wife pretty much blew her stack when she saw the last power bill and blamed it on my 3D printing and other projects in the garage. Not only was I able to prove my innocence, but I also found that our kitchen refrigerator and furnace fan are the major culprits in our energy consumption.I love this thing. I can unplug appliances and turn off switches and see the changes in real time on my phone. You can see your energy usage history by the second, minute, hour, day, week, and month. It’s pretty sweet!I installed it myself which was a little dangerous with my particular breaker box, to be honest. They recommend having an electrician do it. But if you’re comfortable with working around electricity, if you know what you’re doing, and if you can trust your hands not to venture toward the main lugs (death lugs), then it’s pretty straightforward. The app guides you through the process very well, and it’s all communicated in plain, well-written English. For most homes with regular power, you just have to clip the 2 large CT transformers around the the 2 main power legs (by far the most dangerous part), and then connect 2 small wires to 2 different breakers and 2 other small wires to the neutral bus to provide power to the unit itself. Then it’s just a matter of clamping all the smaller CT transformers around the wires that you want to monitor. The cons I found with the installation are:1) The CT transformers are blocky and rectangular, and the corners get caught on wires ALL the time when trying to maneuver them into place. I don’t know if they can be built with rounded tops, but that would make things a lot easier.2) The hinges on the CT transformers have a lot of play in them, resulting in the latch not lining up sometimes when you try to lock it shut around a wire. This is a major PITA when you’re working in cramped quarters around electricity, and moving your fingers and trying to fiddle with finicky contraptions is a liability waiting to happen. They need to design them so they can easily be fastened with one hand. Having to use 2 hands inside an electrical panel creates the potential for a circuit right through your heart. Again, not sure how feasible that is, but it seems like it would be easy to make them that way.3) The cables for the individual CT transformers are way too long for most home breaker boxes. I ordered the bundle with only 8 of them, thank god. Even with the 8 CT’s in my panel, the bundle of excess cable was massive, and there’s no possible way I could have fit 16. Maybe newer boxes wouldn’t have a problem though. With these somewhat minor gripes aside, this thing was relatively easy to install and has given me great peace of mind. I would highly recommend it, it’s a good quality item and has a surprisingly well-designed app to go with it.

This is really great!
Hello! This is an excellent product and quite affordable (Vue Gen2, with 8 sensors in addition to the main two that come by default). The manual at the website is quite detailed, and covers several faqs. The installation was fairly easy after reading the manual several times, and being very careful during installation. There are two wires for sensing the two main busbar voltages for proper watt calculations. The application will let you know If the two wires are connected to the same busbar, and will give you the chance to correct and connect them to separate busbars; quite convenient, and this gives you the confidence that the equipment is indeed reading the voltage for watt calculations, and not using any estimated values.Connecting to the cloud might take a while, especially if there is something wrong with the router. In my case, the system did not connect to the cloud initially, and we got concerned about that; but the system connected to the cloud immediately when using the phone hotspot. So, the problem was really the router. After trying reconfiguring the router for a very long time, we finally factory reset the router and worked immediately. The cloud has been working flawlessly since the installation on late September (it's now early November, 2021). Please bear in mind two important things: the one-second data does not storage for a long time, and the exported data from the cloud to csv format shall be downloaded shortly or it will not be available after a while. This second condition is not critical for long available data, but it is for short term data (seconds and minutes). After having everything up and running (we changed the sensors and circuit configurations a few times to get the most out of the system) the information provided is quite useful, as you will know the consumption of almost all your equipments (or group of equipments, depending on the configuration) with a very high degree of accuracy.Storaged information is only available in watts, but current (Amps) is available at the moment, and for quite a long time, depending on the time step.Graphics are quite useful, as they provide a lot of information at different time steps and for each and every circuit, and also in Amps or watts. This system exceeded our expectations by far, after getting it properly installed and configured. For knowing your consumption with high degree of details and accuracy, this is the right equipment, both on features and on price.Don't wait any more, don't think any more, just get it; you won't regret.Best regards,
