Almost perfect
This product is great and works well almost all of the time. I've been using it for quite a while now. I started with the stick but moved to the paste as it's easier for me to apply. I haven't found *thee* perfect deodorant but this one comes darn close as it is quite reliable and, knowing my body and how I react to various conditions, fairly predictable. I have very.sensitive.underarms so to counter chafing, I began to apply a thin layer of plain coconut oil first. Since doing this, I haven't had any more problems with a rash. After a minute for the oil to soak in, I then apply this deodorant. (If there is any residue on my clothing, so far, it always washes off. If the area to be laundered looks like it needs a little boost, I just spray a bit of white vinegar mixed with water before tossing it in the wash.) I can't reapply the same in one day without washing and drying the area first or I'll get red. If I just need to freshen up, I will sometimes powder my underarms mid-day with some cornstarch instead of doing a reapplication. It really is fragrance free - which I appreciate. When I want to have a light scent, I will use the Rose + Vanilla. It's not overpowering and doesn't leave a lingering perfume-y, or chemical-like smell on me or my clothing. I wish they had sample sizes for travel but also to try out new blends before committing to an entire container. All in all, after many attempts and epic, stinky fails at "natural" deodorants (homemade and store bought), this one has been the best fit to date.

Undisclosed ingredient change?
I’ve made the switch to using natural deodorant over the last few years but have had trouble finding one that actually works. I found this one and was AMAZED at both the price and its effectiveness! Seriously, it was one of the best that I’ve found. However, last week, I purchased for the fourth time and the wrong product was delivered. No biggie! Things happen! Except- there is no way to contact the seller like every other product that I’ve purchased through Amazon over the years. Still, the cost of this amazing product was worth cutting my losses and I decided to simply order another one. However, the one that was delivered had the same ingredients listed but gave me THE WORST chemical burn that I’ve ever experienced. Of course, everyone’s body is different and will react differently, so it wouldn’t be fair to leave a negative review just because it didn’t work for me. BUT I had been using it without a problem for several months before, so something must have changed without listing it on the product. I genuinely hate leaving negative reviews, but the lack of a way to contact the seller in combination with an undisclosed ingredient change is something that is too important not to point out. Truth be told, I would purchase again if it went back to the original product because it was that great while it lasted!

Favorite deodorant
Best deodorant for me! My skin has issues with so many ingredients. This is about the only thing that keeps me smelling fresh and not itchy!! So thankful and hopeful they keep making it!

Good deodorant, disappointing packaging change
I've been using this for a few years for overnight (I really need an antiperspirant during the day). It has worked well, and it was helping me reduce my plastic use. Packaging is important to me, and one of the main reasons I was buying it was that it came in a glass jar inside a paperboard box (though still with a plastic lid and plastic spatula). My most recent order, instead of being one 2-oz glass jar, was four 0.5-oz plastic jars, in plastic bubble wrap, in a plastic bag, in a plastic mailer. As another reviewer noted, the spatula/s is/are missing -- I'm fortunate to still have the one that came with my last 2-oz. jar. I'll miss the product, but I likely won't be buying it again with this packaging.

The best so far... but detox first
I've tried more than a dozen different natural deodorants over the past 18 months. I sweat A LOT so finding one that could hold up to that and keep odor at bay was quite the challenge. Schmidt's was the best though. Brands I tried included: Magsol Magnesium Deodorant Lume Kopari Underarmed Tom's LaVanilla Primal Pit Paste Crystal Jason Every Man Jack Weleda Spry Milk & Honey and of course Schmidt's. Like I said, of all the deodorants, this one by far worked the best, but not without it's challenges. First, you have to scrape it out and rub it between your fingers to apply. Although it was easy to wash off my hands, I personally don't like creams like that on my fingers because it makes me feel some kind of way when I have to apply my make up afterwards. Secondly, even the most sensitive natural deodorants have a burning sensation in my pits. I was plagued with a dark ring under my arms, no matter which brand I tried. Lastly, both the Ylang Ylang and Fragrance-free scents had a nice, clean, light smell - unlike Lume which was overwhelming to say the least. Sadly, after 18 months I still haven't found that perfect one that can last me all day, in spite of showering and applying in the morning. And I'm not a huge fan of reapplying things in the middle of the day like some have suggested. Of all the ones on this list, I would recommend Schmidt's, followed by Milk & Honey. But like others have suggested, the thing that matters more than anything is making sure you detox first. If you don't, none of the other stuff matters. To detox, I applied bentonite clay and apple cider vinegar to my pits twice a day for week before applying the deodorant. The detox caused my skin to swell and become extremely irritated, to a point that it hurt to lower my arms. After a week the pain was gone and I could apply the deodorants with no other reactions.

NO
I've used this product for 2 weeks and I'm throwing it out. Not worth the effort. The texture is abysmal. Even when softened it's like trying to apply candle wax - very chunky and hard. I've been using primal pit paste for years and that actually did apply well once softened so I know it is possible to have a product that applies well. The smell is gross. Smells like stale, almost rancid oil. Once on, the smell is not noticable. It does deodorize for about 12 hours. I don't think it stains clothes but then I've only used it for a few weeks. Too soon to tell. But I'm not giving it more time because it's too difficult to actually use.

Surprisingly effective - a man's review
My ratings: Deodorant - 9/10 Surprisingly effective at keeping my BO masked. None detected after 24 hrs. Daily use, only light exercise. Gym rats and crossfitters results may vary. Significantly better than many types of Tom's deodorant sticks, better than the Schmidt's fragrance free STICK and the charcoal STICK, better than various Native sticks. Antiperspirant - 9/10 Performed surprisingly well as an antiperspirant. Again, performed better than competitors mentioned above. Job interviewees and public speakers to confirm results. Skin irritation - 0/10 This is the only natural deodorant I have tried that doesn't make my pits itch something fierce. I actually don't even notice it after it's been applied. Note this is for the jarred version - the stick results are subpar. Fragrance free is an accurate description. There is a very mild scent, maybe the Shea butter and cocoa. Not noticeable once applied. The consistency is paste-like, not enjoyable smearing it into hairy pits, but that's a trivial complaint. Goes on dry, not sticky or wet, feels like it can't possibly work, but it does. One more note, the ingredients list has changed since I bought it last. The most recent jar I received has dropped humulus lupulus (hop) extract. Will update review if confirmed less effective after usage.

Fantastic product!
I was on a quest to find an unscented deodorant that isn't an antiperspirant (I'm allergic to antiperspirant). Something that actually WORKS, unlike many products sold on the store shelves. I tried several products with differing results: The crystal stick (mineral salt) worked, but I needed to apply it LIBERALLY in order to achieve any sort of effectiveness. Ended up being a pain every morning. I then switched to Earth Science Liken (lichen) deodorant, which works fine, however it eventually started giving me a rash. I used Jungleman for a few years and was a happy customer until they kept raising their prices considerably, so I decided to give Schmidt's a try. This stuff works really, really well. I go all day without a hint of BO, and the next day my underarms still smell fresh! It took a little getting used to as far as the application goes (I was used to using deodorant sticks all my life), but I got it worked out and now it's no big deal. Furthermore, I have very sensitive skin and haven't had any problems with rashes (thankfully) like some of the other reviewers have. Schmidt's is at least as effective as the before-mentioned products, and the little jar seems to last a bit longer than the sticks as well. As a side note, I purchase the unscented product so the smell doesn't interfere with my cologne. I definitely recommend the unscented version for fragrance wearers.

100% works - best natural deodorant
My husband and I both use and love this deodorant! It really does work, especially for odor - I hardly ever need to reapply unless I have been extremely active and would have reapplied again anyway. My husband usually has skin reactions from chemical deodorants and has had no problems at all with this one. We have been using the lime scented one for the summer and really love it, too. It is also great how you really only need a tiny bit - it lasts forever! We tried using Tom's before I had really researched it and not only did it give my husband a rash, it made us smell worse! Schmidt's does not have that effect at all. The only problem is that if you put it on and then put a black/dark outfit on, it leaves some white marks. They do, however, come off with a damp cloth. I highly recommend this deodorant.

Fantastic product.
I get headaches with fragrant deodorants or perfumes. But I also have a bad body odour. I used Schmidt's Fragrance-Free Deo and it is so effective to suppress the boy odour. Just love the product.

it has oily touch and i am not a big fan of that so 4 stars, however, it keeps your underarm dry without smell
