Caught in the Current: A Novel

A great read

Really enjoyed reading this book. Although the story is fictional, it could easily be viewed as true events in the life of the main character in Ukraine in the recent past.

It could have been 100 pages shorter, but over all, it's not a bad read.

Excellent! A historical novel covering the experiences of a young american in 1970 with concern of being drafted for Vietnam taking his summer break to experience Europe and discover himself.

This one is to level out the reviews from family members who promised the author they would read this garbage.

Fabulous debut novel from a talented writer. This "search for identity" quest has it all: romance, politics, espionage, heroism, duty, temptation, and whirlwind travel. And every song mentioned in the book would make a rocking soundtrack if this were optioned to be a movie. Pay attention to all the allusions to water. The story is grounded in real events from the late 60s/early 70s, but most of it remains recognizable and relevant today. A totally enjoyable read from beginning to end.
