New Perspectives HTML5 and CSS3: Introductory 7th Edition

I purchased this book for an HTML & CSS class that I was taking in college. The book was very easy to follow along, and provided a lot of helpful explanations for beginners. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is interested in learning coding, or would like to better understand it. The layout of the book itself was very nice to look at, and the information was organized in an easy-to-follow method.

Required reading for college Web tech class for my daughter. I assume it's good if it's how the kids are taught.

I am a retired Electronics Engineer with over 30 years experience in solving problems with minimal information. No brag, but I am very, very good at reading between the lines and figuring out the solution. I am also using this book in a college class. The instructor doesn't lecture so I have only the book to use to learn this material, along with the occasional question answered by the instructor. This book does a good job in teaching the specific tutorial in each chapter. It does a terrible job in teaching how to use the specific problem to solve the general problems in the case studies used for homework. In other words, it does a good job showing how to get from A to B, but if you need to go from A to C, or don't even need to leave A to solve your problem, you're on your own with very little to go by. The book just doesn't explain how to use the specific techniques in a general manner.

This book is a great learning tool. The tutorials are just what I need to help understand the HTML coding.

Good book, explains things thoroughly.

Doesn't have all chapters. Just 5.

I am learning html and CSS with this book, but I've definitely had to refer elsewhere to clarify something this book said. Not always the best resource, it is still an ok learning tool in conjunction with others.
