Can I wash the filter cartridge and reuse it?

Absolutely! You can wash it several times before a replacement is necessary.

Would this filter work for my shrimp and red claw crab?

Can i place this sideways in the tank?

I would say no. There is a suction cup on the bottom so it would probably stick to the side of the tank or bowl, but the volcano part just sits over the filter. It doesn't have a way to lock on so I'm afraid it would just fall off the filter part. Also the suction cup on the bottom is made to hold it in place on the bottom of the tank. It may not be strong enough to hold it on the side of the tank

what size air line does it include?

Don’t know dimensions but its standard size which fits most air pumps.

Cute little set up.

Unsure about long term use but It was a really nice set up process. They gave me everything I needed for setting this up. Hermit crabs will love it I'm sure for their water tanks.

Suction cup is extremely irritating to stick to the bottom of the tank. I have sand substrate but maybe if you have rocks it will be easier to stick. The volcano is small but cute. I like that it has a filter to help clean the tank.

Perfect for a 1.5 gallon tank

I use this for my beta and turned it to a very low output. It has a valve to lessen or intensify the air output. He was getting caught in the air flow when it was releasing more volume but turned down very low is perfect for ambiance and air flow to keep the water from turning stagnant.

Awesome little Air Bubbler for our DIY Beta Tank

I picked up the nice find for our DIY Tank that my 10 year old and I put together the other day. :-) Works great!! We set the bubbles to pause and blurp ... fun addition and hopefully our Beta will enjoy it for a long time. :-)

Makes bubbles, not sure about filtration

I’m using this in a 1.5 gallon beta tank as no filter I’ve tried fits very well and they are generally a pain for this size tank. This sticks very well to the bottom of the tank—just need to make sure no gravel is under it. I was hoping for a steady stream of small bubbles but I only get burps of larger bubbles. I’ve tried 2 different size pumps and have fiddled with the air flow but no significant difference. My beta seems content so I let it be. I’m not sure if this actually filters anything. It works for a beta tank but I would not depend on it filtering the water. I do a water change about every 3 weeks. Changing the filter is fairly easy. It sticks pretty tight to the bottom of the tank so need to be careful trying to pull it up.

Very cute but too small

I have an 16 lt tank and this isn't enough as a filter... So I've remove it because my betta gone inside the volcano and hurt itself... Very cute but it's no good

Can get blocked

This is a great addition to a smaller Aquarium (10g in my case) although the small tube for the air hose often gets blocked and I need a skewer to clear it
