It was a perfect fit!

Does not come with a top or the part(s) needed to connect drain lines to this box. It has a third knock-out on the bottom I intend to use. Hope I can figure out how to remove that without damaging the box. No such thing as directions of any type. If you already have all the parts this is a bargain. If not... you may want to purchase a complete box.

Easy to install 4" diameter drain pipe slipped right in. I did modify in by drilling 12 - 1-inch diameter holes on the bottom of the catch basin to keep out standing water.

Used this basin for a French drain to collect the water from my gutters and divert it away from the house. I'm only connecting it to one corrugated pipe and capped the other opening. The install was simple and not much is needed except the digging part which was exhausting. One of my concerns is the stagnant water collect at the bottom half of it. That cannot drain anywhere since there are no drain holes at the bottom. Not sure if I should drill a few to help with that. Besides thag it seems to do its job and seems durable

Great buy compared to local big box

I rarely write a bad review. But this was advertised as having a grate and holes that would accept either 3", 4" or 6" pipe. Both claims were untrue. What you get is what you see however that is NOT WHAT THE AD SAYS.

The drain box itself is sturdy. The fittings rotate and lock in place. I wasn't sure if I needed to glue the fittings on as well. But as the box is buried I don't think there is any danger of the fittings coming loose.

Not too crazy about the tapering of this catch basin. It is extremely difficult to seat due to the tapering. I also had to get creative and make my own covers for the 2 openings. It will take a few rain storms for it to settle properly after soil gets wet; settles and packs hard around it. This is especially true if you are dealing with a clay environment. I've had to go back quite a few times to add more clay due to a sinkhole being created around it because of pockets of air. No, I don't use this for a French drain setup, but rather as a catch basin for rainwater runoff. A pump sits in it with a vertical switch. The tapering of the basin reduces the amount of flat space available at the bottom. If your pump is too big, it won't fit. I was lucky. Measure everything that will be placed inside it before ordering! You might find you will need a bigger Basin or an alternative solution.

Not much else to say, a nice solid catch-basin and meets the application I am using it for perfectly
