I bought this for my son and he started reading letters at 18 months old! He repeats back the words in this book like “yo-yo” and “mouse.” He can point to the letters and name them like “h” and name pictures like “heart.” It’s seriously amazing seeing how much our littles can learn! Highly recommend. It’s great that he can do some independent play learning as well as learn with you!

I’m an elementary teacher and a mom to a 17 month old. This is a great book to introduce the alphabet to a toddler. But it’s not a good book to teach the sounds. The word examples they have definitely don’t match the sounds the letters make. For example, apple for “A” is great, but there’s also acorn and angel under “A” which are the wrong sounds to start with when teaching A. “G” has a giraffe which is a “j” sound. Lots of examples like that in the book, so basically don’t use it to teach sounds. The alphabet song also is the original version that we’ve moved away from in education where it says “y and z”. Littles get confused about the “and” in there, so we skip saying “and” in the song when teaching it now. The “and” kind of sounds like “n” when singing. Overall this book is a good tool for introducing the alphabet to littles.

I love that each letter has a button. And it has a super great voice, it's not babyish or annoying (which if your going to listen to a toddler hit that button 40'000 times is a key fearure) Also like that it has a button to sing the whole song! Cute way to learn words, and phonics and for our slightly older little boy reading! I do wish that each one of the letters had two words to go along with it but I realize that requires a more complex circuit board so not a complaint but a wish nonetheless! Will be buying this as a first birthday present for a friend as well. My daughter loved it so much for Christmas I hope to spread the joy!!!

I keep this in the car to keep my som entertained while O drive instead of putting him on a screen. And actually helps him identify some letters lately.
