Crystal Body Deodorant, Rock, 5 Ounce

Deodorant crystal rock, works well for me 74 year old woman who sweats a lot. Keeps me odorless only needs to apply once. Last the whole day.

Since puberty I’ve smelled like a sandwich shop. 😭 it’s not from aluminum detoxing. I’m an apocrine sweat person, have been since day one. I don’t really get wet, I just bring the stink 😆😭 and have since I was literally 9. 😭 This salt crystal and panoxyl 4% acne body wash on my pits in the shower has been game changing for me. Mostly the crystal, which is wild because it’s not even scented. It helps the stink bacteria really struggle to thrive. The acne wash on your pits kills bacteria and helps the environment in there. I let it sit for a minute or two a couple times a week. Sometimes for scent or extra protection I’ll also layer a spritz of natural spray deo on top of the mineral salt once it’s dry. Or swipe a natural deo stick *around* my pits, not on top of it. Deo sticks pill when you layer on top of salt deodorant. It’s possible to make it work by using a small amount on your fingers and pushing in into your pits, not rubbing it on. But there’s always a chance it can pill. Spray is easiest for layering and adding fragrance if you choose to layer. I get the crystal wet and rub it on pretty intensely because it’s hard to tell if anything is even going on you lol. Then I use a little handheld fan to dry and “set” my pits. 😆 with these natural deos, they mostly succeed or fail due to application in my experience so yes I am being extra. And the protection I get all day is worth it. In the beginning I had to do 2-3 layers. I think the salt has killed a lot of the bacteria deep in my pits and now I’m down to one layer. If I can rub my finger across my dry pit and my armpit feels powdery and I can feel the salt grit on my fingers, I know I’m good. And I’ve been letting it air dry half the time now instead of using the handheld fan. But I DO think in the beginning the OCD process of doing layers and using the fan to dry it definitely helped me convert and helped it do its thing. I pulled my back one week and got over 24 hours with no smell when I couldn’t fully shower one of the days. Don’t be afraid to layer especially in the beginning. Dry each layer. It feels like absolutely nothing is on there compared to regular deodorant paste/barrier sticks. It’s strange at first and you don’t feel protected, but then it feels great and you don’t smell. No white marks or yellow stains. No clumpy, musky, uncomfortable paste by lunch. Your sweat is coming out like it’s supposed to and your pits aren’t swollen. I don’t mind sweat, I don’t like smell. I shave my pits (gently and with the grain) and I have zero burning or irritation using this right after. My pits felt really soft after it dried too. I get why this crystal deodorant has a cult following. It’s so stupid simple, it works and is SO cost effective. I can’t believe I didn’t know about this stuff!!

This crystal is alum, a mineral that in powder form, we used in Ethiopia in the 1960's to purify rain water for drinking. It works well, and lasts for years. I bought my first one over a decade ago and accidentally dropped it. It shattered, so I bought this new one. I have never had the issue of powder or residue on my skin or my clothing. Definitely moisten the crystal before using it - I get a few drops of water on my fingertip, rub that onto the crystal, then apply the moistened crystal to my armpits. Have never had the problem of the crystal dissolving because of this. Very easy to use, and is all natural!

I got this deodorant rock to replace a salt deodorant with a plastic applicator. The applicator got mildew inside and I just couldn't use it anymore. I've used this one for about a week and like it so far. The salt can feel a bit slippery without the applicator to hold it, so I have to be careful not to let it slip out of my hands. I use it right away when I'm out of the shower, wetting it before each application, and rinsing it off when I'm done. I find that it prevents odor well, even in the summer. It doesn't stop perspiration, but I don't find it to be a problem. I have very sensitive skin, so I only use it for two or three days in a row, alternating with another natural deodorant. The salt dries my skin and eventually causes some irritation if I used it every day. I still much prefer this rock deodorant to an anti-perspirant/deodorant made with a long list of chemicals. It's unscented, dries right away, and doesn't stain or leave marks on my clothes. 4 stars.

I decided to give this product a try since I have recently become very sensitive to deodorants since being premenopausal. I remembered, when I was young, my grandmother used a crystal rock for her deodorant. So I looked up online, some natural alternatives to deodorant. I found this one. It works absolutely amazing. You either apply it on directly after a shower when your armpits are still wet or damp or you just run the crystal underwater and then apply directly to underarms or wherever else on your body that you might create odor. The great thing is that it’s natural so you don’t have to worry about any harsh chemicals. If you have any health concerns it’s a safe choice. And did I mention that it works! It’s definitely worth trying, and it will last a really long time.

I’ve tried many other deodorants, and always return to this crystal salt. Most deodorants have too heavy fragrances, where this one is so pure and simple. I know it is safe for my body. The only thing I have to watch out for is if you drop it, it will break, so be careful.

I like this product but it does scratch you but again I think I need to use another side. It controls the odor.

I have always known about this product but had no idea that it would actually work for me because I am a very sweaty woman! I prefer to use deodorant-only with as few dangerous chemicals as possible, but the one I've been using for the last few years still leaves me with bad B.O. after a short time. A friend suggest this Rock to me and I thought it wouldn't work, but after realizing all of my summer shirts are now infused with my bad BO even before I wear them, I decided I needed to do something different before people start avoiding me! I honestly have NO armpit odor after using this thing! It is amazing! I don't even sweat as much as I used to, and this is July in a southern state. So far, it's lasted all day and night without reapplying, though I did reapply one time after being outside for a few hours in the heat. I am so happy that I no longer stink! UPDATE! I was so so sad to develop an absolutely terrible rash after about 3 weeks of use. I had to stop using it, but once my pits healed, I gave it another try. Imagine my surprise when, right after use, I felt a TON of salt left in my pits! Turns out, after a few weeks of use, some of the salt starts to loosen up on the rock, and when you use it, larger than normal deposits of salt wind up in the armpits. As you sweat the salt melts so it's not noticeable that there is a tablespoon or so of salt in there, which is obviously too much and is irritating. Simply be careful to dust off the chunks of salt from the armpits right after use. No more irritation and terrible rash for me! Second update: If you are using this and sometimes you smell and sometimes you don't, it's probably your old pre-rock shirts! I used to use a heavily scented deodorant because I sweated so much and would end up with stinky pits. Since I used the overly scented deodorant every day, I didn't notice how bad my actual shirts smelled once I started getting a little sweaty. Of course I wash my laundry and am not a gross person at all, however once I started using the rock, as soon as my pits would get a little damp, those older shirts would begin to stink of a mixture of B.O. and my old deodorant. Even my shirts I've washed tons of times, done vinegar soaks to remove the old pit odors, and shirts I've bleached!! I happened to buy a few new shirts post-rock, and none of them have that odor at all. So now I'm buying all new shirts that won't get stinky with old funk with the slightest amount of sweat.

At first I was skeptical about this product but it turned out to be a new concept in personal higiene (Which in many cultures is not new!) If you care for your money and environment there’s no discussion in getting this item. My husband and I have been using it for over an year now. Shirts are no longer yellowish, and surprisingly no nasty smells!!
