One of the Smartest Purchases You Can Make
This product is pretty irreplaceable for obvious reasons. I'll divide my review into 3 sections: things to know before buying, pros, and cons.THINGS TO KNOW:- The 14" still works with smaller laptops; just position the magnets toward the top of the laptop so they grab the bottom of the Trio's built in magnets- Your company may not allow you to install the display's software drives (or there could be compatibility issues). However, I can confirm when using USB-C, these monitors were plug and play on PC (no software needed). I did not test this product with a normal USB connection and the software drivers- If your laptop has a USB-C charger, you can most likely use that port to connect the display, then charge your computer through the display.- If your computer only has one USB-C port and you want to use two monitors, you may need a USB-C power hub (I haven't tested this yet since my personal computer has 2 USB-C ports)PROS- Does not require any extra desk support than a laptop would. If you want to use a narrow standing desk, especially an adjustable portable laptop desk, this is by far your best option- Can rest on semi-flat surfaces like couches and beds because its angle matches the angle of your laptop- Can give you 2 screens and pass through charge if you have a USB-C charging port- Plug & play if you use USB-C. Comes online quickly, I didn't see the issue other users mentioned. I assume they are not using the USB-C ports and it was related to the driver software- Solid screen quality- The casing for the monitors helps stabilize the computer. Positioned correctly, even a laptop with a loose hinge should keep from tipping over backwards- Compact when you slide the monitors together for whenever you need to move it around. Not super heavy either.- Very wide. not ultra wide, but still nice- If you detach one from the back of your computer, you can position them vertically standalone. This can be useful if you need to read contracts, do coding, or anything with a lot of line breaks- Doesn't appear to cause my computers to run slower, heat up significantly, or drain battery ultra-fast. YMMV- Using metal stickies on the back of your laptop is a great. It's so easy to swap this onto all my different laptops personal, work, specific clients, etc. Obviously if you get an older laptop without a USB-C, the drivers could be an issue for you. That's the way things are headed though, so good to future-proof yourself- Easy setup- Slide in casing gives the screens some protection when carrying- Impresses your coworkers, clients, friends, and familyCONS- The screen quality, while solid, doesn't quite match up to the built-in screens I have, even though the HD resolutions are the same. If you want ultra clear graphics, the screen is good, but not fantastic- If you have zero hinge resistance (your computer screen can bend completely backwards) and you want to tilt the screen back far, you may need to put some kind of kickstand on the back to keep the computer screen from falling flat. That wasn't an issue for me, though.- Software drivers for non-USB C computers could be a dealbreaker for you if your organization disallows them or you encounter a technical issue- The screens have a rotation sensor, which I found annoying since I'd prefer for rotation to be set in the display settings.- The menu and brightness buttons on the side of the display are extremely difficult to see, and they don't stand out because they are touch sensor. use a phone flashlight and/or just feel your way around until you can find them- While the front of the screen is protected by casing, the back is unprotected. Be careful when carrying these around, as I doubt they could survive a fall or impact- Obviously be cautious if the screens are pulled out since your entire computer could be knocked over- The clips do an okay job of lining up two screens at once, but it's not 100% perfect. Not a big deal and it keeps them attached and relatively even, but I do wish they designed the clip tracks a little better- No option to swap out for another display- While I think this is a pro, it does not attach so firmly to your computer that you can grab your computer alone and carry the whole set around. make sure you have a firm grip on both whenever you're carrying them around.- you may need to buy your own USB-C hub if you want, which is a bit annoying. I also don't know whether the charge through display feature would work through a hubThat's it. Unless an improved design comes along, just get this. There were far fewer cons than I expected, and there are so many problems with alternatives when you like to travel or even working from home in different rooms. You could work in a room with your kids or significant other instead of holing yourself up at a desk. You could have a 3 screen setup in a studio apartment or college dorm while working on your bed. It's just great.

Work great
I purchased my monitor last October and shortly after the magnet just didn’t work on one side. I was using a little block to keep the monitor upright for over 3 months. I then decided to reach out to the seller and over a two day emails back and forth they offer to sent me a new monitor. I was very thankful and surprised of how thoroughly and efficient the process was. They actually sent a new monitor to me and I returned the broken one.Great customer services, I tell all my teammates about this monitor. Works like magic. I needed 2 screens when I work from home to help me work more efficient. Love my extra screen. It makes a world of difference.

I’m struggling!
I love this idea and there isn’t an airport or restaurant where I don’t tell people about this product BUT there has to be a better cord system or can you make it wireless? I truly love this screen but the cord from March is already messed up.

Almost a very good screen
This screen is...just ok, I paid half-price because it was a returned product, considering I paid half-price is fine. The quality is ok, 1080p but there is an issue with brightness, it is not that it is not bright enough, the thing is, the brightness of the screen is just all right. Mounting was pretty straightforward, there's a manual that teaches you how to set everything. The screen is a tiny bit loose, the screen falls like 3mm, you put a small piece of plastic or paper to set it straight. The magnets are...ugh, they come with a small glue to add them to the back of the laptop, they are not very strong.

Great Concept
Love the concept and the size. I don't like for the dual monitors you have to overlap them on the back making computer heavier. Quality of the screen is decent. All in all of you looking for 1 additional screen is amazing. For 2 it's okay. Not sure if I'll be able to deal with how heavy and bulky the 2 make it but we will see.

Much better than expected
I had a lot of skepticism even when ordering this product and compared to other similar products that are available right now or coming soon (which aren't many).Overall design concept and build: 4 starsOverall concept is actually well thought out. I admit that the plastic backpanel on which magnets are attached to feels a bit flimsy. But it does the job, and argument can be made that it's for reducing weight. Minus one star for the cheap feel. The steel discs and magnets might feel like a joke, but actually it works better than expected for a few reasons. Two Trios weigh as much as a laptop itself, and putting that much weight on the laptop screen housing will either damage the hinges down the road or make the laptop do a backflip. The magnets attach to the discs but they have some wiggle room so that it slides down to the desk surface and puts Trio's weight on the desk instead of the laptop screen. The wiggle room between the magnet and discs actually allows you tilt the laptop backwards more for better viewing angle, and keep the Trio's weight on the desk surface. A lot of similar product's solutions like hanging the portable monitors on the edge of laptop screen puts a lot of weight on the hinge. My bet is that your viewing angle will be very limited, almost 90 degrees upright. Tilt the screen back, and most laptop hinges won't be able to hold up the weight of two extra screens.**I have a windows laptop and attached a thin cut-to-order polycarbonate sheet matching my laptop size, used Velcro fasteners to attach the polycarbonate sheet to behind the laptop screen. The velcro stickers will be much easier to remove down the road than metal discs without getting some scuffs. For Macbook users, I strongly suggest using a hard case.***Connectivity:I wish it had a mini HDMI like other portable monitors. USB-C input is fine, buttery smooth. But using USB-A input makes it laggy, feels like a remote desktop or the Duet app on the iPad (since it uses the same DisplayLink technology over USB A). My laptop only has one USB-C so I have to live with the laggy screen on one side. It's okay for static screens, but lag is noticeable when you play a video, and forget gaming with USB-A connection.Other notes:When you attach two 14 inch Trios to a 15inch laptop, the width of a triple monitor setup is similar to a 43 inch monitor when toed in, and wider when not toed in. You're not going to be able to pull out both at most cafe's or any public space. A single unit should suffice for most users. It's lighter as well. If you do decide to get two Trios, make sure you have two USB C ports or be ready to live with a lag on one of them.

A portable workstation finally
The media could not be loaded. As an avid laptop user, i always find that i could do with an extra screen, however with a laptop the only way i knew of doing this was to have a setup at home on my desk with cables everywhere and a hub to share the image across one or more extra screens, most of the time this means that the extra monitors are oversized and you don't use your laptop monitor...such an annoying mess around and a waste. This setup however suits me down to a T, i now have an extra monitor that is attached to my laptop that i can use if and when i want to, If i need a quick job done, i open the laptop as normal, if i need a larger project that would be better on multiple screens, i pop the second monitor open and i'm away. The ability to just switch between one and the other is amazing.I do have to point out, you'll need to buy another one if you want the 3 screen setup as i think i'll be doing that soon myself hopefully. Although 2 screens is still a massive improvement.Usability wise, the setup is reasonably straight forward, you get a bundle of magnets so it can be installed on multiple laptops, these magnets fix to the back of your laptop screen and allows the mechanism to sit securely in place, yes this thickens the laptop, but it's a worthwhile trade off. There's also a clip included, this is for when i get my third screen...coming soon... It also has the cables you need to connect them up, although i may try and get a shorter version specifically for my laptop to try and tidy it up a little bit moreAll in however, it's a nice stylish setup that gives me more visibility when out and about without the hassle of a full desk setup.

Neat solution to carrying a second screen
The media could not be loaded. As part of my job I often have to give software presentations and demos, and that usually involves lugging a second monitor around with me in the car which is quite frankly a pain. It's a pain but has to be done as it's hard to get a number of people crowded around a single screen when giving a demo in a way that everyone can see what's going on. I wanted a neater and more portable solution and the Trio Max seemed to fit the bill for me for two reasons - it's small and light and offers the facility to add a third screen too, which is something that I can see be useful for presentation.Fitting the screen is pretty easy, thanks to the self-adhesive magnets - it's just a case of taking the backing paper off, lining it up and pressing down. It's a 3M adhesive so seems to be very secure so no chance of it falling off mid-demo thankfully!. The connection cable is included along with some simple instructions so it's not hard to get up and running. Once done it works exactly as a second monitor would, and you can either mirror the main screen or use it as an extended desktop etc. Quality of the screen is very good - as you can probably see from my photo it actually looks better than the laptop it's attached to in my eyes. I like the fact that if it's not needed I can just remove it easily to leave at home too, plus the fact that the magnets allow it to be turned around to operate in a portrait configuration if I need too.I've been impressed with this - not the cheapest option but boy it is better than lugging a separate monitor around in the car with me. It doesn't add too much weight or bulk to the laptop either - the whole thing hardly feels much different to carry when it's in the laptop bag.

Great but could use more magnets
The product is great but assumes it will be used on a table. The instructions sate the frame needs to be mounted right on the edge as to touch the table when the laptop is open and the screen extended. This is unusable on your laps, the screen is just to large and the magnets too few to hold it straight and the screen slowly gets lower and lower and risks falling off the magnets. I still give it 4 starts because it's easy to just buy some extra 3mm magnets on amazon. That's what I did and now it's perfect. Also I have another brand which is brighter but this one is also not bad at all, just not as bright, could be a good thing for battery life though.

Good second monitor for laptop
Monitor is good. The only thing I did not like is the magnets that they ship with it. Come on those magnets are like toys. If I'm buying this for a second monitor for my laptop is because I want to use it anywhere! If I use it to work on the couch, it falls off because of those cheap magnets you send with it. I had to buy true magnets and its fine after that, I can use it anywhere I want now.

SAVE YOUR MONEY - Ethical Hacking Student (Uni)
Yes, save it.Unless you are not a high experienced user (passive) and admin (active and proper use of a computer), this may then satisfy your needs. As a Ethical Hacking student, I seek for the best in efficiency and productivity while keeping active my mobility, wherever my studies, job and a pen-test takes me to.This is not the solution due to the magnets which aren't really that useful even when seating the screen on the desk as from instructions. For instance, the magnets are fine and are not powerful enough to harm your laptop. They simply don't do their job and the screen may fall down at any time, especially if traveling on a train or typing in car (bumps etc).Furthermore, if you are an experienced admin (not just a user) it is absolutely pointless to invest much money in expensive GPU such as NVIDIA or whatever if then you end up in buying an extension screen such as this one, with a very poor resolution.Save your money and buy a proper screen, such as a Zenscreen from Asus, which will cost 100gbp less than this and will perform 50 times better than this TRIO Max.The idea is good though, they just have to upgrade it.
