so pleased how well and easily it took a spark. easily ruffled the end of the twine up a bit, and a few seconds later my flint got it caught on fire. just absolutely ideal for small, simple, lightweight, fire on the go. a flint, and this thing and i could get a bunch of legit fires going, rather than having to scrounge up natural tinder out in the woods, or bring single use tinder option. and replacing the twine is as easy as ordering some 6mm twine, and coating it some canning wax u can buy even just at walmart.

I thought the hemp rope firestarter in a metal sleeve was kinda gimmicky, and bought it on a whim. I took it on a trip where I thought it would be fun to try and we’d all joke about it and talk about cotton balls and vasoline being better—turned out this little thing is really handy. Once fluffed up, you can light it with one strike on fire steel very easily, and it is really handy having a mobile flame (like a very hot and large match) to light kindling. We were all surprised how nice it is to use. It was one of my most successful albeit very random gear purchases. It ended up working great.

The media could not be loaded. This item is nicely made and very light.It is a good way to make a fire that can take a spark. The fibers need to be fluffed up with a pocketknife to allow a spark to get it going, onced lit the waxed hemp rope burns nicely and by pulling the rope into the tube will extinguish the flame quickly. The tube can be used to provide air into the tinder to fan it into ignition.

Easy to use. It's easily carried portable enough for your shirt pocket. Worth the money.

Simple design, plenty of rope for you to use this for a while and allow you to practice different starting methods so you can be sure if/when you need it it will do its job.

Very nice for something small in a backpack

I appreciate the idea. I used this product a few camping trips ago. Worked just fine. I smoke so I always have a bic lighter on me. I understand the skill set to create a fire with other than a lighter is great. So I added this to my fire kit. Honestly you never know when you'll need it. Great to have.

Very handy tool to start your wood stove. Or to start your Bushcraft stove. I have had four of these and love them I would recommend them to anyone. Usually I get a sticker with them this time I didn't. The newer version is much easier to use than the older one
