Halo Scanner

I needed to check the microchips of my three cats so I ordered the product with hope that I wouldn't have to take them to the vet just to read the microchips and I was successful in all three. Simple to operate, the chip number (15 digits) appeared very fast and clearly and I did not encounter any problems. very pleased.

I bought this to check my current pets (all adopted) for microchips, so I could chip anyone who didn’t have one and update info of those who do. It worked perfectly. Now everyone is chipped and info updated!

I really like how this scanner fits in your hand. It is also small enough that it is non-threatening to whatever you are scanning. I love that it reads all chips. For the price, it is a steal.

my pets have a 10 and a 15 digit code and it works on both. easy, fast, and reliable. great price for peace of mind.

July 27, 2024. I have 5 dogs and all are chipped. This scanner read all but one of my dog's chip. I know for a fact she is chipped because she is from the National Yorkie Rescue group and her foster mom was present when the chip was inserted last August, 2023. Plus I have all the chip related paper work. Even if an older chip was possibly inserted, the scanner should at least indicate the presences of a microchip. So this is disappointing. Also I contacted the seller on the day I got it (July 17, 2024) to address the issue, but they have not gotten back to me.

Day one of using Halo scanner, I was amazed! I scanned my 2 cats & it found their chips instantly! My dog is a senior & her chip seems to have moved over the years. But with just a couple of tries & moving the scanner over a broader area, it easily found her chip. I bought the scanner to scan a stray cat that might be too stressed to take to the vet just yet. I think this Halo scanner will be a very handy tool to have!

Use it all the time

I feed stray cats. I was disappointed when the Halo did not read my own cat’s 9 digit Avid chip. I was about to return it when it read a Home Again chip last night on one of the stray cats that showed up! Woohoo! I contacted the animal shelter this morning and hopefully they will contact Home Again who will contact the owner🙏At $70 this Halo would be a great tool for anyone in animal rescue work or feeding stray cats. I wish something like this had been available decades ago. It would have saved so many animalsAs I read other reviews it sounds like the Halo is hit or miss depending on the chip. For my purposes it is better than nothing and what I can afford But animal shelters and vets offices need more sophisticated sensitive scanners that read all varieties of chips.By the way, Home again chip maker took my call and promised to reach the owner of the cat. They keep the owner’s name confidential. I never received a call back from the owner
