Legend (Real Book 6)

Great Series Finale
OMG this is the final book in the Real series. I'm so sad that the series has come to end. I'll confess that I didn't know what to expect when I started reading this story. All I know was that I was wondering who the mystery guy was and how will he ever compare to Remy. BOY!!! Did Maverick have me intrigue from the very beginning. Legend is a sweet book about overcoming past prejudices and striving to be the best version of yourself. I think I fell in love with Maverick because he was the underdog and I always have a soft spot for the underdog and even though he doesn't have a pot to piss in that didn't stop him from trying to achieve his goals. He already knew that if he wanted to be the best he must beat the best and that including him beating Remy. I enjoyed everything about this book the twist and turns with the emotional rollercoaster and challenges it take you on. The love story between Reese and Maverick was beautiful and unforgettable. They were perfect together, so alike. But there were some things I wonder about like for instant.1. Maverick is supposed to be lone wolf but while he was in NYC mysteriously out of nowhere he get a surprise visit from some friends from back home. What a coincidence they know everything about Reese?? Where did they come from?? When did he get in contact with these friends?? How did they know where to find him???2. The closure between Reese and Miles was incomplete. I was expecting some kind of final words between them but we got nothing.3. Also was Reese on some kind of birth control?? I don't think she was because in one sense Maverick wore a condom. All the other time they hookup there wasn't any mention of condom. So wasn't they worry about the possibility of pregnancy??Overall a enjoyable and entertaining read.

A NEW LEGEND IS BORN!!!!
4.5 STARS!!"Dragging my hand over my face, I pull my phone back out and try to focus on the man I need to beat. And I think of that nice girl who doesn't want to be nice. A girl who wants to be unforgettable and doesn't realize, she already is."MAVERICK!!!! I think I'm in LOVE. Katy Evans has created a gorgeous, sensitive beast of a man. Another legend is born.Legend is the kind of Katy Evans book that I love, filled with passion, emotion, tons of sexy times and a deep emotional connection between the two main characters. This book goes back to the roots of the series, an lonely underdog fighting against the world, and a sweet, kind woman who is swept away by his passion.Maverick "the Avenger" Cage is an outcast in the underground fighting world. But he knows he can be the best if only someone would give him a chance and train with him. The best he can do is a down-and-out trainer named Oz. Reese is Remy's wife Brooke's cousin, and is traveling with them on the fighting circuit while taking care of their son, Racer. She is a loner, shy, and never thinks someone like Maverick would be interested in her."I wanted to be understood, and I wanted to be known. And I wanted to be loved."I LOVE a good underdog story and Legend fits the bill perfectly. There are no over-the-top characters here, just two people who are searching for something that they never had. And when Maverick and Reese get together, WOW!!!! Hello, new favorite book boyfriend!!“Don’t go after her if you don’t think you can deserve her.” He hits me again and I block, then jab him. He eases back and prowls around. So do I.“Deserve her first. Then go after her.”Reese and Maverick have a forbidden romance at first, because Maverick is in training to ultimately fight Remington "Riptide" Tate and challenge him for the championship. And nothing will stand in his way. But the truth comes out and Reese must decide whose corner she is really in. There's no question that Maverick is all hers, and he is the kind of man that knows when he has found the woman for him. I loved that Reese is not perfect, and the author makes sure to point out her insecurities. This is the kind of book that Katy Evans does best, filled with fierce warmth, hotness and a brute of a hero with a heart of gold. Maverick is EVERYTHING. I adored Legend and it is the perfect entry in the REAL series of books.Favorite quote:"He doesn’t say a word to me, but I can feel him. He’s all I feel. Everywhere."

A winner
I may not have read the other books in this series, but I still very much enjoyed this story. Maverick has a chip on his shoulder and the need to prove himself -- especially when no one takes him on to train. He knows he has what it takes to be a great fighter, but he bears the marks of his father.Reese needs a severe change in her life, so she moves in with her cousin Brooke and Remy to take care of their son Racer. I have to say, I loved watching Remy with Racer -- I love reading about men and babies, what can I say -- and those scenes alone have me wanting to go back and read the earlier books in this series.Maverick wants to take out Remy....but he meets Reese, and wants her, too. This was a sweet-ish forbidden-ish romance. Mav and Reese shouldn't be together -- both are on the wrong sides of the coin, but they were so incredibly good for one another. She brings him light, and he brings her the ability to believe in herself and believe the beauty of her and her world.I loved the end fight, and I really loved the parallel between Mav and Reese's first moments at the gym ("He's with me") and the last chapter ("I'm with him"). I feel that that helped the story come full circle. I loved the full circle that Maverick completed in this book, and I loved the sense of ease Mav and Reese have with one another by the end of the book. Fans of Remy may be a little disappointed by the end, but I found that Remy embodied a whole new person, a larger person, that Mav needed in his life.If you're a fan of fighter stories, this one will definitely be a winner.*received a copy of the title in exchange for an honest review.

Incredible ending to one of my all-time favourite series
Legend (Real #6) by Katy Evans5 stars!!“I want to be a legend. Legends never die. Even if they die alone.”The Real series has been one of my favourites since the very beginning, sometimes authors have that knack of embedding their characters into your heart and soul and Remington “Riptide” Tate was one of them for me and he has been at the top of the list ever since. So, knowing that this is the last one was bittersweet, while I appreciate that every story has to have an end, sometimes you just don’t want them to and that was definitely the case here. However, as endings go, Katy Evans delivers with a flourish, this was the perfect ending and it is not often I can say that hand on heart. While this is most definitely Maverick’s story, the part that Remy plays is pivotal and totally encompasses the selfless man that he has become, it truly was perfect.Maverick Cage is an enigma, at the very beginning when this character is introduced your curiosity is piqued. It is obvious he has a sorry story to tell but with every door that is closed in his face he doesn’t lose hope, if anything, it makes him stronger and more determined. Maverick Cage is a scrapper, he doesn’t give up, he is tenacious, extremely focused, he is a marked man, but he doesn’t let this define him…he is just Maverick Cage. The same Maverick Cage that wants to become a Legend in the ring, the same Maverick Cage that has one man to beat to get there…his arch nemesis Remington “Riptide” Tate. He may be a novice, but he has the heart and soul to get him to the top, if only someone would give him a chance.“All it takes is a match to light a fire, and He. Is. The match.”Reese Dumas is Brooke’s cousin and has come to work for the Tate’s as a part time nanny. Determined to leave the old “Reese” behind she takes on this challenge with both hands. Thinking that she is in love with her best friend, a best friend that has never seen her that way, she wants to reinvent herself and the first step is to get fit, the first stop is the gym.“And still I think of that nice girl who doesn’t want to be nice. A girl who wants to be unforgettable and doesn’t realize, she already is.”Reese was a beautiful character inside and out, just like her cousin. She is beautiful, but she doesn’t see it, she is quiet, a bit introverted and is loving and loyal. All these traits lead her to help the man in the hoodie that couldn’t get into the gym… “He’s with me” is the beginning of their epic tale.“I came here to find myself. And I think I did. And I also found…you.”Katy Evans brings to life Maverick “The Avenger” Cage, a literal tale of rags to riches but that borne from a man that had a point to make, his tale to tell. A man that had the focus, courage and determination to prove that he is bigger and better than their misguided blanket beliefs, a man that had a heart a gold despite the tattoo on his back. But together with this tale of David and Goliath is a beautiful and swoon worthy romance, a story that will have you championing for them to succeed, from allegiances to fist bumps this story will have you tearing up, smiling but most of all falling in love with Katy Evans’s writing all over again.“That’s our real fight. The one that lasts a lifetime. The hardest to win. You win that, a fight like tomorrow’s is a piece of cake.”I don’t want to ruin this for anyone so I will just leave it here, as I said above, for an ending it was perfect, it totally encompasses everything that this series has been about. Friendships, loyalty, good vs evil, love, overcoming the odds, self-belief and to see past your flaws and to embrace your strengths. Be the person you always wanted to be, not the person that people expect. This was a beautiful story and a fitting ending to a truly epic series and it will be a series that will have a permanent place in my heart and on my book shelf. Katy Evans, I applaud you once again, thank you for Remy and the gang. And I don't want the world to see me…'Cause I don't think that they'd understand…When everything's made to be broken…I just want you to know who I am…We see you, we know you, we love you…Remington “Riptide” Tate.“The honor was mine.”

Awesome.
I've had this book on my shelf since march 2016 but refused to read it because I didn't want to say goodbye to Remy and I didn't want him to ever loose. I loved it watching the relationship between Reese and Maverick develope and then the relationship between maverick and Remy. By the end of the book I was rooting for maverick to win but Remy will always be my number 1.

Okay Ish.
This was just okay ish I didn't feel any connection to Reece or Maverick and I found it hard to believe that Maverick was Scorpion's son. I didn't think he was old enough to have a son that age I assumed Scorpion was around the same age as Remy. there was no easy flow to the story and I found myself ploughing through it just to get it finished.
