Mine was stuck too!
(HYDRO MASTER Water Hammer Arrestor,Clean Brass,1/2"MNPT)If you have not seen the other reviews, something about the manufacturing process causes the ball inside to get stuck and needs to be dislodged before use. I used the back end of a ballpoint pen (perfect fit) and a rubber mallet, it was not easy and I had to strike it pretty hard several times in a row. If you also decide to do this, make sure to use something malleable like a pen because a metal tool will likely damage the ball. Other than that, I totally think it was worth it and the product itself does the job.

Seems to have resolved the hammer issue from our sprinkler valves.
I already had a TEE with a plug, so took the plug out and screwed this in. The shaking line and noise seem to have been eliminated.One concern I have is that it is outside. BUT we turn the water supply off in winter as several lines are exposed.

Doesn’t work!
Disliked- installed it for my toilet. then after a week i removed it. Found it was stuck open, and not absorbing any water hammer.
