Fast and easy oil changes for my boat
I looked all over the internet at oil pumping equipment for changing the oil in my Volvo Penta 4.3GL. This is a fabulous solution. It's affordable, build very well and does its job with a few dozen pumps. Run on paddles for about 5 minutes and get a used oil container ready. I used an old cat litter pail and routed the still plastic tube into it. You could easily rig up a longer vinyl tube if you like with a hose clamp. Leave it open and on its side to drain and it will last many years.

Works awesome, fantastic quality.
Got the oil out of my 4.3 omc in a flash. The back of the boat was in the way to put the pump straight up, but the rubber boot on the bottom let's you bend it a little and it still pumps fine. I pumped the oil cold, because my battery was dead and I'm impatient. I bet if you warm it up it goes super easy, but even 50 degree oil pumps without too much hassle. The only complaint is the included discharge hose doesn't really fit on the pump. I had to heat it up with a torch for it to stretch over. And its pretty short. All those problems could be fixed by running to the hardware store and spending 75ยข on a piece of hose. But as we discussed earlier, I'm impatient.

useful. Very well
Easy to use. took me only 20 minutes to change the oil, but there's alot of hand pumping involved. It would be better if the hose included was clear and also longer. Made in China, the older ones were made here and a little sturdier.

Worked - period
I bought with the some skepticism, but decided to give it a try to change the oil in my Mercruiser Mag350. It worked so well, I was shocked. As others have mentioned, the hose provided is very hard, stiff and short. Instead of using that, I installed some longer, more flexible hose to reach to empty gallon jugs. The pump easily screws onto the dipstick tube and a couple quick pumps and you are pumping oil. I didnt get any siphon action because the oil pan was lower than the output, but it was still quick and easy. Probably 90 seconds to pump warm engine oil out.

This lil guy works like a champ
Pulled all the oil out in under 10 minutes. Initially I thought it would take longer but once it started going, long steady strokes was all it took. Worked better than my Moeller oil extractor that I used the last time. (which was more than twice the cost). The other issue with the Moeller is that you have the oil ending up in the pump which then needs to be transferred to a container for disposal creating another mess. With this, I was able to go straight into the disposal container eliminating a step and mess. Amazon wont let me load pictures of it being used. ugghhhh. Guess Ill shoot a video next time Oh and I did not warm up the motor. Oil had been sitting at the bottom (didnt want to have it all up in the engine anyways) and it sucked it up easily enough. (Note temp outside was 60Deg. Maybe an issue in colder climates.

The marina got too greedy
Why havenโt I changes my boat oil for years. $600 for winterizing was the last straw. Works very well

Oil Change on boat motor
I have a 1994 Cobalt with Volvo Penta 5.7 GI. The drain plug on this engine is in the worst place. I would have to drain it straight into the hull and out the hole in the bottom. This pump directly attaches to the dipstick port and you can pump out the oil cleanly into a canister. It takes a little bit - around 15min, but the dipstick port is easily accessible, the procedure is clean without messes and if you only have to do it once a year this is by far the way to go. The pump looks like it's good quality and will be a good tool over the years.

Works great! Makes changing the oil on my 5
Works great! Makes changing the oil on my 5.7L Mercruiser a breeze. Thread the garden hose fitting onto the oil dipstick tube collar and just begin pumping. No priming required. I just used an old 5 quart oil container to pump the oil into. I was able to get 4 quarts out of the motor before it started sucking air. I even pumped the oil on a cold engine. No mess at all, I am impressed. This is a must have for boat owners. The only recommendation I can make is it to slightly heat the included black hose before putting in the barbed fitting on the hand pump. The hose is hard and requires force to get it on.

Still a decent pump
My previous Jabsco oil change pump was purchased in 1997 ($49), was used every year, and finally in 2021 the rubber ends cracked and broke off. Hopefully this new one will provide just as good a service life. The rubber ends appear to actually be vinyl (a little stiffer) so we'll see if it can handle the abuse. The output hose is also vinyl - and very stiff. I prefer my vintage one, and will swap it out. You can never get these pumps completely oil free when you store them, so I keep it in an aluminum tray, with an oil pickup rag. Simple & reliable. If I had to change the oil on 10 engines a day, this would not be the pump to use - but for weekend warrior it is perfect.
