A must for winter walking.
Great item. We are able to walk our dogs in the Michigan snow and icy roads with no issues. No slipping and good quality. Ours lasted 8 yrs and we had to get new ones this year.

Work great for ice fishing!
These are great for ice fishing! They stay on your boots really well and give good traction. The only bad thing is they wear out fairly quickly.

Must have if you don't like slipping on ice
These are a must have if you plan to spend much time walking on ice. They are also great if you have an existing knee injury and have to prevent twisting. They hold your traction on the worst of ice. I have had and used these before, and they are durable, very effective, and they take practically no space. I always try to keep a set of them right next to my chains/snowsocks in my trunk during winter. The things to keep in mind, but they do not reduce my rating: Take them off before entering a building - you will damage flooring with them. They have very limited stretch, especially in freezing temperatures. This can lead to buckling shoes upward, especially light running shoes.

Simply fantastic
So, I purchased these pretty much exclusively to use for running. I have a pair of the walking version, but I needed the extra security that the strap would provide. I typically do trail runs after work in the woods, and up until the recent ice storm, had not needed anything like these. As part of my new "no excuses" policy when it comes to runs, I needed something that would let me navigate the hard packed sleet in a way that ordinary shoes would not. The trail was essentially a sheet of ice, and was completely impassible to foot traffic at anything more than a sliding shuffle, but the addition of these seemingly simple devices opened up a whole new world of ice running. I was as surefooted as a goat, and did not have a single slip during the entire run. These things just scoff at ice. Even hills weren't an issue, and because of the lack of spikes on the bottom, I didn't have to worry about the occasional sections of boardwalk or the pavement when walking to the trailhead. The transition is smooth and painless. If you are doing a more technical trail, or have some severe elevation gain, you will potentially need something more aggressive, but for running on roads and simple singletrack trails which are covered in ice, I would highly recommend these, especially at this price point.

Essential for icy New England Winters
I purchased these for others as mine have been essential (and have lasted) for many years. Living in New England, there are times when solid ice, or worse, wet ice, is everywhere and these are the only way to get around. I’ve used them on sneakers and boots, to walk dogs and snow blow. I’m sure there are other fancier ones out there (and a lot of cheap useless types), but these have been perfect for me and are reasonably price, especially considering how long they last. One caution: make sure you have them on properly or they may fall off. My husband has lost (and found) one of his twice this year while walking the dogs, but the second time, before he left, I could see the springs from the front so they weren’t on properly. The metal should be completely under the shoe and only the rubber should be over the tops. They’re not hard to put on correctly, but you might want to check that they’re seated properly the first few times you wear them.

Didn't see this before but don't use indoors
These work great for out in the snow but you absolutely cannot wear them indoors I wore them indoors and I promptly fell and hurt my back but like they tell you in the description you cannot wear them indoors they work great for the snow and ice especially but you cannot wear them indoors it's like walking with rollerblades on and when you don't know how to roller blade the slip resistance is very good tractions really good except indoors like I said I don't know how many times I need to reiterate this because people did not say that they worked badly indoors so I'm telling you now it works horrible indoors you will fall and you will hurt yourself
