Easy to use, sturdy and well made.

I was working on a lab for school and I noticed that the fine focus knob was missing. I thought nothing of it, and I had no problems with my first slide. My second slide was very hard to see on the microscope, even after adjusting the "adjustment" knob that literally only moves the stage up and down. If only this product had a fine adjustment knob so I can actually examine the specimen that I am studying. It is especially frustrating that when the specimen is absolutely tiny and you cannot even see it on the so-called "1000x magnification". Just buy a better microscope guys.

I really like this microscope. It is surprisingly powerful given the price and comes with a variety of accessories that make getting started looking at slides very easy. I found I was able to zoom in on objects quite easily, a process made simpler by the inclusion of several different resolution lenses that you can switch between by rotation. I also found that the light for this microscope is sufficient to see clearly with. All in all, I would say that this is a very good microscope for the budding scientist in your family.

I like everything about it. It comes with enough materials to get you started on the fabulous world of tiny stuff.

Would have been great if all lenses worked properly. Vendor please replace x40 lense. You can see the defect in photos

I found the item to not be great quality and it didn't provide easy to follow instructions. It was boxed up and sent back the next day.

This is a very solid, heavy, metal microscope thatdoes not feel like a toy by any means. This extra weight helps reduce vibrations when looking at subjects under high magnification. It comes with a selection of pre-made slides containing samples of insect parts, blood cells and even intestinal cells, which are fascinating to look at. And the tools necessary to make your own slides are included.The claimed 2000X magnification is a bit misleading because this is achieved using a 40x objective lens which is multiplied by a 25x eyepiece and then adding a 2x barlow which doubles the magnification of the eyepiece. In my experience this results in an unusable image. There's not enough light, clarity or FOV to see anything. So take the upper end of the magnification claims with a pinch of salt. This microscope works best down at lower magnifications like 100x-800x. And at those magnifications it's actually pretty sharp and the LEDs provide more than enough light to be useful.I really think most science-enthused kids will think this is just amazing. When I was about 14 I had a cheap plastic microscope and I spend many hours of my weekends looking at fabrics, hairs, finger nails and leaves under it.
