Handy Alcohol Ink Applicator for Decorating Polymer Clay
The Ranger Adirondack Alcohol Inck Applicator took a little longer to arrive but was in great condition and exactly as advertised. The price was economical too. I belong to a polymer clay guild and I used it for a workshop in decorating polymer clay with alcohol inks. I used my pasta machine to thinly roll out a small sheet of white clay and before it was baked I decorated it using this applicator. I attached one of the rectagles of felt that came with it to the applicator by just pushing it onto the velcro. I placed a few drops each of several harmonizing colors of ink on the pad in a random pattern and then pounced the applicator all over the clay. I then let the pad dry out a little and added several drops of gold ink and pounced over the design with it. The handle is smooth and very easy to grasp and hold firm. The pattern is beautiful. I dried the ink on the unbaked clay under a fan and then punched out flat oval inch long beads with polymer clay cutters and used my needle tool to poke holes in each at the top of each bead for a jump ring. I will bake the beads until they are hard, add, jump rings, paint on some glaze, dry and then string them onto a chain with other beads to make a beautiful necklace. I then pulled off the felt to be dried and maybe reused. A bunch of felt pieces came with the applicator and I purchased a package of extra felt pieces. I'm very pleased with this applicator and its parts.

Well made easy to use
Ranger tools are well made. This is no exception. Fits perfectly in your hand.. All you have to decide is if you prefer this shape or the round handle dauber.I love the way this looks like an old fashioned stamp, and that the larger felt gives me more coverage than the round tool.

Love Ranger products!
The felt pieces with applicator are smaller than before and do not work well.

A very useful & versatile blending tool.
This is a very useful and versatile tool when used with all types of inks and ink pads. Well made, and durable. Easy to handle. Pads are held in place by a Velcro strip, which is fixed permanently to the applicator. The pads are merely made of felt. I have purchased 8x11 inch pieces of felt from a local craft store for .25 cents each, and have cut out my own blending pads. Goes rather quickly with a rotary cutter. Plus, you get a lot out of one piece of felt, for little to nothing.

Looks like it will do exactly what I need it to do!!
Arrived in before the time stated. I need to get busy with this, and I DO have all kinds of ink to use with it. Excited to take my work with ink to the next level.

Not Useful for My Purposes
Bought this for use with my alcohol ink painting on YUPO paper and ceramic tiles. I don't really like the effect that it produces and can get the same effect using my gloved finger or even a cotton ball. If you like an even all over pattern in your artwork, you might like it. The alcohol inks flow on the paper and tiles and this item adds texture but is not really needed. I can get texture with so many other things that I find myself not using this. I think it would be perfect for stamping inks on paper for a nice even background.

exactly what I needed.
I have looked in all the craft stores for this and they were all out of them. It works perfect for my card making. So glad I found it here at least. The price was actually cheaper then the stores too.

Helpful
Made applying the alcohol inks easy. I have used the cotton make-up applicator pads, and if you don't mind getting your fingers a bit messy, these work well, too. There is more control with this applicator though.

Ok product, expensive and I have found round ink applicators better
Quite pricey and I found the rectangular shape less useful for applying alcohol inks than a round ink applicator I ended up using. It is too apt to leave some straight lines and as I prefer a good gloss paint to yupo paper on the whole the round applicator works much better.

Does the job but costs a bit more for what it is
Nifty tool, did the job well. Loses a star because you can quite easily make one at home, it's just Velcro on a mount with felt pads. Top tip, don't bother with the refill pack. Just grab a sheet of felt and cut to fit. But the handle made it more comfortable.
