Spoilers!I bought this book without knowing who David Williams is. I am an avid reader who's always looking for the next best book to buy. This book is not a disappointment. It looks great, it has amazing illustrations, a great story which includes real life events, the list goes on. Overall this book is 10/10 and you should read it

I love this book! It's an amazing story of an Uncle, whose name is Sid, and a boy named Eric and Gertrude the gorilla, who Eric and Sid love. The story is fascinating! The main plot is that Gertrude the gorilla, who lives in the zoo, is going to be given a lethal shot that will kill her, but Uncle Sid and Eric love her too much for her to die, so they think of a brilliant plan to save her. And that's just the starting.From that, the story builds up.It's a great read for anyone of any age. I highly recommend it.

I bought this book for my 9 year old son. He loved reading it!

My 10 yr old son thoroughly enjoyed reading this. He was so engrossing in this book, he finished the book in 2 days. Looking for more books from the same author.

I bought this for my kids but I read it first. And enjoyed as I always do David Walliam books!

It is set in the 1940 in the 2nd World War .Quite a interesting story about a boy named Eric's adventure with his uncle and a gorilla named "Getrude" .

My daughter loved this book. the packaging was great, the book was brand new.

Initially I had bought a few of the David Walliams books for my son as was recommended in the school read list. The David Williams books are exciting and engaging and never fails to impress with the brilliant content and illustrations. Subsequently, have bought most of the DW books for the kids and see them reading the books repeatedly, which has been a good diversion from being hooked onto gadgets. The books are certainly a good deal when bought at Amazon, good Vali for money and prompt delivery.

Purchased for my 10 year old grandson.He really enjoys David Walliams books.
