Works well. Saved me money already.
At first I wasn't so sure about this thing, yet here I am still using the same blade for a month and a half since purchase. Doesn't sharped to 100% like new but sharpens to what feels like 80%, making shaving with the same blade a much more pleasant experience. Try shaving without something like this for over a month on one blade and see how that works out for you. Works with Gillette Fusion! I apply some soap/cream to the rubber and swipe with 40 times or so with moderate force.Slight con is that this particular model does slide around a bit as the bottom is just wood. Some sacrifice of practicality for aesthetics. Not a big deal for me as I just brace it against a wall. To be fair, I imagine most sharpeners would need to be braced in one way or another.

Doesn’t actually do anything
I was really hoping this thing would work as advertised. When I first got it I realized it wasn’t going to work with the type of razor I was using, so I went out and bought one whose blades were more exposed, so that it might work. Ultimately this product doesn’t do anything.

Excellent, but you need a good technique.
Excellent tool, but you need a good technique.I have had mine for four years using a Harry’s razor. In the first year it seemed a to grab during the stroke, so I wrote a note to Keith, the inventer, who suggested using a little soap. I did this with seven or eight strokes for two years, and the blades lasted about one month. My technique was to push for seven strokes just fast enough that the razor vibrated a little bit.During this time I also realized that holding the device on a towel and at about a 45° angle to my chest line was more ergonomic.Recently I have changed again using just water and stroking evenly and more slowly, so that there are no vibrations. The blade is sharp after six weeks with seven strokes, And I think it will be good for eight weeks.

Too narrow for my Gillette
I've had this for little over a week and have been using it on my Gillette. It seems to be keeping the blades from dulling as fast. The problem with the Hone is that's it too narrow. Each swipe should be a total razor blade sharpen but its not. You have to make two swipes to totally sharpen your blade because they made it too narrow. They shouldn't have been trying to cut the manufacturing cost so much. You would think that they would have made sure the razor they talk about extending the life of would have worked with no problems. For the expensive cost of this it should be perfect. I can't actually say that I'd recommend it.

I was a little surprised that the actual hone material ...
I was a little surprised that the actual hone material was rubber/leather rather than stone. It appears to work very welll, however. I took a mach three razor (blade) that had been used in the shower for about three weeks and it sharpened very well. I expect to use it weekly.

Four Stars
I notice it does prolong blade use. Wish it was a bit wider

It works! (but what did you expect?)
I just received the "Hone Alone" about a week ago, but si far it seems to be working pretty well. I am mostly a straight razor shaver, so I understand the power of honing and stropping. In SR shaving, without proper honing and daily stropping, your face will oay the price. But I do use a Harry's safety razor when I travel or when I run out of time in the morning. So when I saw this gadget, it made total sense to me. I think that it is probably doing more stropping than honing, but who cares how it works? The point is that the blade stays sharper than it did without using the gadget. I haven't had it long enough to know how much longer I will be able to use a single blade. Will try to remember to update this review once I get some more "honing" under my belt!

It Works.
Okay. I had my doubts about this tool, but other reviews encouraged me so I thought I’d try it. I Love it!! I use a three blade shaver for legs and underarms. Since using it, I have, so far, used ONE razor for over six months and it stays sharp. I wish I could get my husband to use it. It would save even more money.
